Harsh on Carrazzo, Curnow and Tuohy I think there bondi. Any of those names except Ellard and maybe Curnow have shown themselves to have a few tricks like goal scoring, defensive work, contested work, good ability to spread.

Put any one of them in Ellard's role and I think you'd get a better performance out of them.

I was referring to their pace being one dimensional, and acknowledge they have other attributes, such as engine of 2 players which adds value, and Tuohy has a good kick on him.

As for pace, I dont think I'm wrong about that lot. I would say the say about Diesel, but doesnt mean he didnt have anything else of value. I just dont think we can carry 4 players without good pace, and in Tuohy's case when he plays on small zippy forwards, imo he bacomes a liability. Maybe he was carrying a niggle and would have been rested if not for our huge injury list.

IMO, Curnow 3 years ago and Curnow at the end of this season is like night and day; much more complete player. Worth persisting with and will probably be in our first 22.

He's in mine too.

He has the running ability of 2 players. Means more rotations for others who need it more, and keep them fresher. This eunning ability has not come with sacrificing skill because Curnow has improved his football all round in 2015.

I'd have Curnow ahead of Ellard and Brock in the midfield role...and I'd add Tuohy in the midfield order too...if he's considered. Tuohy was tried on the wing in the NAB Cup and got lost.

I understood you the first time: I don't think they're one-paced. Carrazzo and Tuohy have been carrying injuries and Curnow has shown closing speed on numerous occasions.

Curnow busts a gut a lot, so you don't seem him build to peak speed a whole lot in any given game, but it's there.

With a bit of luck injury wise I think we've got our kpd spots shored up for the next 10 yrs with Jamo Rowe Hendo Jaksch and Giles.
One or two of those can play kpf ...shame we couldn't line up Tom Boyd for next year to round out our kp stocks. Need to snare one more top quality kpf, maybe Jones might explode... ?

Our midfield stocks still have question marks re consistency.
Murphy Gibbs Thomas and Yarran must again step up another notch and become more consistent as they are our classiest mids.
Cripps Whiley Bell need to just play an assistance role to those classy guys so they can produce enough scoring opportunities.

We need to target a couple more classy young mids in the drafts and free agency this year and next to complete the structure.

We are 2 or 3 kpps short of shoring up our kpp spots
need a fullback to replace jamison in 3 years
need a big bodied forward. No guarantee on casboult and jones is a 3rd tall
We need them by 2015 draft as kpps take 3 years to develop

IF we can develop Wiley, Bell and Cripps, our in and under grunt in the middle would be sured up to be able to release Murph, Judd and Gibbs a bit more on the outside.
Reckon we should go for an outside mid with great foot skills with #19.

Bell might be a big body, but he's no extractor. Can see him bullocking and shepherding at the clearances then spreading better than his match up. Would like to see him in Robinson's role from last year as I think he'd do a much better job.

Just needs to tidy up his disposal of the ball.

The Blues are likely to secure delisted Sydney Swans half back flanker Matthew Dick. A third-round draft pick in 2012 the 19-year-old Dick was cut from the Swans list without making his debut but is seen to have a good upside.

According to the AFL website we currently have the following picks...
Round 1: selection 19
Round 2: selection 28
Round 4: selection 61
Round 4: selection 65
Round 5: selection 79
Round 6: selection 101
Round 7: selection 119

Assuming 101 & 119 go to Tutt & dick, that still leaves us with 4 main draft selections + PSD?

I thought the talk had been that we'd need to cut two of - ellard, lucas, mclean, robinson? - or have I missed rookie spots?

Assuming we select Dick (DFA) and Tutt (PSD) and keep a 38/6 split, we would need to cut 3 of Robbo/Brock/Ellard/Lucas to use the forecast 4 ND picks.

We would then have 3 picks in the Rookie Draft.

Dick looks like a speedier version of Laidler
Laidler was a good player who just lacked pace....
