A couple of points.

1. This is a final where tackling and pressure increases. Walker can't tackle, we all agree this is his current fault, so why would we bring him back to play, and to play on Goodes, of whom breaks even the best tacklers efforts?

2. Jack wins his own ball, in the packs. IMO Ellard or AJ is perfect, I can't see Armfield on Jack in the midfield. Armfield will be needed on Jetta.

..everything with most, except the Jack match-ups.. ..AJ to tag yes, Ellard to tag no.. ..leave Ellard to do what he does best for us.. ..get the ball in and under, and block for the others..

When we play interstate we usually take one emergency, so this weekend with the Ants Final on Saturday and the Blues on Sunday, seems like one unlucky fringe player will probably end up missing both finals.

I guess the emergency could play in the Ants on Saturday and then fly up Saturday night but probably not worth the risk given what is at stake.

Thoughts?

We are always worrying about who is going to play on X and Y. Let them worry about who is going to play on Murph, Juddy, Gibbs, Simmo, Hendo, Garlett, Waite etc.

According to Dwaaaayne ( ) they will have the Rising Star for the year returning and also the most improved player in Pike on the field. Well hopefully Jeffry can show Dwaaaayne that he too could be a Rising Star contender and Robbie W too has improved.

The first quarter is very important, we cannot allow them to get the same head start they got the last time we played them at Etihad.

GO BLUES!!!!!!!

JOSEPH HAS TO TAG JACK, or are we going to let him cut us up like Hill did last week ? Thornton needs to play & should follow Goodes around like a sheep. He has probably never done it before, but he could rise to the challenge, and after ?????? losses in a row, we need to consider something different to the same old PREDICTABLE slop that we have dished up over and over again against this mob. I don't know why Walker got dropped last week. He must play, even if we spring a surprise & play him up forward, where he has done OK before, or even in the middle. If you keep making the same mistakes time & time again and expect a different result - you are a moron. Time to take some chances & spring a few surprises - for once. Why not start Betts & Robinson in the centre square ? Bring back Fisher and play him at full forward. Do something.

Mike Sheahan did an article on the finals today and talked about the top 7 and then went on to mention Melbourne and North lol.

And last night on OTC Hirdy used llogic to point out that Sheehan is not consistent when judging Judd. Sheehan agreed. He also suggested to Sheehan that he apologise for ongoing barrage against Judd.

For mine i'd have
INS: Jacobs, Hadley and Thronton
Outs: Hammer, Davies and Carrots(inj)

It seems to me that even Ratts is trying to convince himself that McLean should play.
If thats the case im very worried. Having watched the ants last week Brock's body aint up to it this season and if Ratts wants hard bodies then Hadley at this stage is way ahead of him.
I just hope his facination with Brock playing this week isnt a form of justification for picking him up with a first round draft pick.
Brock looked slow and cannot be fully fit.

Your being a bit hard, there is a place for Brock.

If someone threw a grenade into the change room, Brock is the perfect guy to dive on it.

Just gotta find a grenade.

Same for me. Bit reluctant to drop Hammer, but Jacobs was very good on Sat.

Don't think you will see Thornton back in.
Sauce for Hammer.
Hadley for ??
Not sure of any others.

Think Yarran may travel as emergency.

I dislike Adam Goodes and hope he gets lost on the way to the ground.

Yes the ins look good to me, we have to win now so form is paramount, the home and away season is the time for investing in potential, not during finals
- No matter what Hammers potential is, you can't go past Jacobs form in the Ants, 3.6 while rucking most of the game!
- We absolutely need either Hadley or Maclean to get the ball out and free up Judd in the stoppages, the swans are going to go in hard and try and bottle the ball up
- Again Thornton is in great form, unlike Bower and Jamo

Not convinced on Davies as an out and Carrots may come up, but I think we need these three ins.

In my view:

Out: Davies, Carrazzo
In: Thornton, Walker

I also wouldn't mind Hadley coming in but not sure for whom? Maybe Yarran but I think that robs us of pace, our key weapon, and I think there is better long term advantage of playing Yarran in as many finals as we can.

Drove past Gosch's Paddock this morning and saw the Pies out there in the wet. Couldn't help but think back to us cancelling an intraclub b/c of rain. All year, they have played the same way irrespective of conditions or opponent. We have played a bit too much like a team who cancels training due to rain...

I'd like to see Jacobs come in for for Hammer.

Based on last week's performance in the Ants I wouldn't play Brock unless carrotts doesn't come up.

If it was up to me Thornton would be in for Davies (and would play regularly ahead of Jamo & Bower).

Unfortunately the coach will not play T-Bird so there is no chance of this happening.

Apologies, it's probably written elsewhere.

Ifffffff we get up on Sunday, whom are we likely to play?

Not overly confident, but I think we are worth getting on the odds shown earlier.

Regards
Pedro.
