Have to put Lance on Gtrain I suppose :?:

I'd be tempted to put Walker on Dal Santo. I reckon we'd win out of that.

I don't know if I'd be that optimistic. Dal Santo is one of the premium on ballers in the comp. But give Walks the job and we'll see how he goes. If he can attack as well it will make it interesting, especially if Dal Santo doesn't pay him respect.

By win I mean that if he can keep Dal Santo to 15 possessions, and picks up 10 himself in the process, then the relative benefit to the Blues will be greater.

Yep fair enough. Agree, if we get that result out of the match up it will be superb.

I don't care as long as somebody smashes that little Baker turd. If Fev is on the lead and that little shit gets in your way Fev, take him out and send him back to boganville.
Kouta was scared of that little prick last year....

Saints will belt us

I would love nothing more than a win this week however I can not see it happening if we can only beat a seriuosly depleted Essendon* by 33 there is no way we will get near them

By how much did we need to beat Essendon* for you to be happy?

I could not care less if we win or lose this week, it is totally irrelevant. The kids just need to keep showing us something and hopefully this week another new kid gets a run.

Denis, Bower must play. I want to see what he is like running on the wide expanses of the G.

Any win makes me happy and we dont get many these days - If we are a legitmate chance of beating the Saints this week I would be even more happy but we are not. Essendon* were missing 6-8 first up selections and virtually lost its spine and we beat them by 33 . Sure I'm happy with win but our best against what they put out on the park we should have seriously belted them. But we didn't . Therefore we will be facing a fired up Saints this week who will be under the pump from the media and we will be in trouble.

Its called reality - not fantasy

Pagan wont pick Bower by the way as like you I would also like to see.

French will probably return and he will try play Deluca in Fishers position. Either that or Prendagast will come in

Sydney its not our fault that the Bombers have an ageing list though - Camporeale, Hird, the Johnsons, Camporeale, Lloyd - what, 29? - and Campo. Their key players are on the decline and this has been a problem for 3 years, but the next wave hasn't come through as expected.

We have Kouta and Lappin on the decline but happily for us we aren't in the same position as the Bummers. In some respect Essendon* 2006 is like Carlton 2002 - some very good players at the end of their careers, a handful of promising kids and some good VFL players (Bolton, Peverill etc.). The Bombers have a huge challenge ahead of them, but at least embrace youth so their return is most likely to be faster than ours (IMHO)

You can only beat the team that is selected against you. That's what we did. It means nothing less in history that we played a Bomber outfit representative of its recent list management skills.

I know it was Telstra Dome and we are not as good but heaviest flood this year was what Geelong put on St Kilda last friday and Geelong won so not sure why Pagan wouldnt try it this week

Walker on Reiwoldt?....I'm not a fan of murdering Walker by giving him too many mountains to climb..eventually he will be collected by one of these bigger players and injured in marking contests or similar.
Whats next J Brown?....let the lad run free and if he has to tag then let him at least get someone his own size and not a KPP.

SydneyB has a point...Essendon* were at the lowest I have seen them....
Reynolds FB..Nathan Lovett Murray on Kennedy...lets be realistic..Saints will start favourites....Whitnall on Gehrig would be a key battle..

I would play AW on Lenny Hayes...Hayes is a key playmaker for the Saints and their real leader along with Ball.......

Its a winnable game given the Saints injury concerns providing we get the matchups right and can keep the intensity up....

Will be interesting to see how Saints come out this week after the big let down of failing to lift for Harvey. Harvey looked shattered after that game .. Ball could hardly move ... Hamil and Kosi both out

Houghton out reported ...... We have a few Forwards for the saints to keep check of ... Fev / Waite ... pity we missing Fish.. add Bets / Kennedy guessing we could even use Whits up forward if WE can cover fraser.

As someone said we will have the best chance to at least see how we stand up to the Saints. And i guess will be interesting to see how they come up ..... Saints look vulnrable at moment. But again they could come up and lift but not sure of that.

If they were not allowed to participate in the next two drafts 2006 would be their best for a while.

We have to be some sort of chance surely...Kosi, Hamill and Hudghton out, Maguire out of form all season, Ball carrying an injury and they are worse off in the rucking stakes than we are. I always worry about Gehrig and he only kicked 1 last week so he'll be looking for a big one. Saints will be fired up, it's probably not the best thing for us that they lost to Geelong and especially in a milestone game for someone like Robert Harvey. They'll come out hard and we need to stick with them early. We have Fev coming off 7 goals and a forward line capable of kicking a score if we get it down there enough. Losing Fisher will hurt but Kennedy showed a bit and I don't think Jarrad Waite is too far away from a big one. We are due a win against the Saints and I'm not sure we'll get a better chance...

We will know early in the Piece i think they could be in danger of being very flat next week sometimes when you loose a milestone game and failed can carry on following week could also have the reverse effect and fire em up but they look bulnrable few key injuries / Report some poor form of some key players.. we have to be a chance if they fire up could be in trouble

Their loss on Friday night made me think back to our loss to Richmond in Round 12 2001 which was Steven Silvagni's 300th game. The week after this we bounced back and beat Port Adelaide in Adelaide. Hopefully we don't feel the backlash...

I dont think any post has said otherwise ElwoodBlues1, just that we have a bit of a chance, a bit more than normal against the suckholes from Moorabbin. I dont think Whitnall on Gehrig is right is it? Gehrig is locked in the square and Whitnall is too valuable at the mo up the field. Although would it be the smartest player on the competion versus the dumbest player?

Kosi is a gun and he aint gonna be there.Jason Blake and Cain Ackland do a pretty good job under the circumstances. And its in the ruck we can create an imbalance.Bring back Barney to tip the scales our way.Believe it or not,i reckon we can get a clear advantage in the rucking contests.Starve there onballers of first use and we are away.Just concentrate on exploiting there ruck deficiencies.

Lets try to get the Aints off the bit

how will they match Fev, Kennedy, Mittens and Waite
Maguire, Schwarze Fisher Gram and Goddard ???
If we go Lance v Fraser and Walks v reiwolt
where else will they score Milne ?
who else we can stretch them

With Thornton Whitnall Saddington and Walker down back and Fevola Waite and Kennedy up forward we seem to have a good mix of talls. Barnaby back in and DeLuca out would improve our ruck it's the onball and midfield brigade that I think we need to review.

Do you think the coach and MC would be tempted to bring back Russell for Fisher? Certainly wouldn't hurt to have extra pace against the Saints across the midfield although if it's going to be wet another solid body wouldn't hurt.

Then again do we bring in Blackwell for a match where sure hands and ball getting ability could be pivotal and a wet ground will limit the pace?

Or do you swap a marking tall half forward flanker utility with another in Raso?

I really don't care if we win or lose as long as we play good footy. I have decided not to wory as much about the results this year as long as we don't play like we did in the second half against Collinwood because the reality is at the moment there are a lot of sides that are better than us, but if we can match them and have quarters were we dictate the play and play direct, im happy.

We have enough potency up forward to post a winning score.

I reckon we have to play an offensive style again this week.

No point in trying to stop them with a flood.

Russell and French will help.

maybe Chief Wiggins can run with Harvey.

He is fit and showed a bit on sunday.

I'd rather have him run through Milne.
