At the AGM this year a number of Members actually voiced some of their concerns to the Board.

If your unfinancial members had bothered to turn up, instead of just abandoning the Club, they too could have voiced their concerns instead of remaining silent.

Perhaps if the Club dies they will think themselves lucky that they didn't waste their money trying to make sure it stayed alive. Perhaps they could then change membership to Collingwood.

And if the CLub does survive, perhaps they will buy a membership when we start winning games and boast about how much they love and support their Club (now that it is winning again).

But one thing they will never be able to do is talk about how they supported their Club in its most difficult period in their lifetime.

Mick Malthouse recently commented about the cut up membership cards he received over the last couple of years. He wondered whether they were still members and if they deserved to be. He thought he might send them back to the loyal fans who sent them.

At least they bought memberships so that they had something to cut up.

As Mickstar says, you have to stick with the club during times of trouble. Otherwise you are just a fairweather supporter.

Take out a membership and vote at the elections. Or even better, run for the Board if you have a vision for the club that noone seems to hold.
