Ah, but Rory is a ficticious character and as far as you know so am I. What is truth and what is fantasy you cannot possibly know. Indeed, all you have is a fantasy in your own mind, and nothing grounded in reality at all.

you have no problem flying the flag for yourself there verbs... just noone else on your footy team....

How do you know I even play footy? You don't. You just make up things to suit yourself. It's a fantasy you've constructed in your head.

Pretty flimsy basis for any sort of debate. That's the problem when people make statements as fact when they can't justify them through any form of evidence what-so-ever.

Your statement: you have no problem flying the flag for yourself there verbs... just noone else on your footy team....

holds no weight what-so-ever as you have no idea if it's right or not, nor can you have any clue. It's impossible. You don't know if I'm a girl or a boy, if my hair is brown or purple or if I'm really really tall, or have large breasts. You're trusting the construct you have created in your own mind, not me.

Even if the idea was a good one gez this childish and mindless (and weakly put together if I can add) bagging of one of our better posters just demeans the whole site.

And yes, I mean verbs.

Did anyone see WLF on fox last night?

They replayed Buddy Franklin cleaning up Ben Cousens and not 5 minutes later, 2 Eagles buried Franklin in to the turf.
Spider Everitt said it was fantastic and he wished his team was capable of it.

Obviously players take note of "flying the flag" and in this case, respect it and envy it.

Nearly all our players fly the flag nearly every week.

It usually happens somewhere in the second quarter.

It looks like this:

Thanks M. There shouldn't be any need for anyone to have to fly their own flag, or anyone else's, in the football threads, but unfortunately it happens.

I too thought Everitt's piece was very interesting. Both incidences in that game happened as part of play...tough hard footy.

Hey GWS that actually put a smile on my face - thanks for the laugh.

On the subject of flying of the flag, does anyone remember the body slam that SOS gave Matty Lloyd in the 99 Prelim.

I think it was in the 3rd quarter and ML got the standard free kick in front of goal and sprayed it.

SOS came right up to him and chested him in the chest and fell like a stack of marshmallows.

It was priceless footage because SOS was rope-able and although he didn't fly the flag for a team-mate, he was flying the flag for the club [except during contract negotiations].

We have the same problem with tough guys as with talent - we have too little of either. I hope Bryan gets a game, but we're kidding ourselves if we think he's going t scare anyone. Hartlett is big and when he had short hair looked like Brad Miller, but he needs to just get fit and get a game. We have very few flag fliers. I'd love to have a big battler like Jamie Charman but we don't. In three years it will be Kennedy, but until then we will continue to be bullied unfortunately.

Finally glad to see Fevola fly the flag against Melbourne at half time. He was in control and stood up for both himself and CFC it gave every Carlton player feel two feet taller. gr8 to see!
