Rest assured that the current troubles will give way to a new administrative structure from which a new Carlton will be reborn.

When Carlton does re emerge as a revitalised and totally new football force, there are many who will be deeply, deeply resentful of this. I cannot overstate the depth of their feelings here.

But the likelihood that our 'close at hand' renewal will bear fruit earlier than most expect will only serve to further inflame the smouldering hatreds that they carry for us.

Fraser Brown does need to play his cards shrewdly, and I am sure that he will, but Browny's involvement with the current board push and the changes that flow from this will also be a driver for others to hate us for our long term success.

For some, it is a matter of coming to the door and knocking repeatedly, until maybe the door finally opens for them, but for others, the door will open after they have knocked only once.

I think he hates Fraser Brown more. Isn't there some "history" between their businesses or something???

Is this AFL and the CFC playing out roles ala The Godfather - "keep your friends close but your enemies even closer" ? With Demetriou cast in the Brando Don Corleone role?

BTW what has come out of the Jim Watts role? And where are those professional resources the AFL were happy to share free of charge?

I'm guessing he's not insolvent if he can afford 600 grand but didn't he get done for tax charge a few years ago.

Going to watch the latest edition of On The Mike, Agro?

Ron Andrews is the interviewee and one of the questions asked is about the Carlton salary cap debacle.

RA flat out says that what happened to us wasn't harsh at all.

That part features in the advert.

Wasn't Brown ordered to undertake anger management training? Doubt that would constitute a criminal record.

It was a tax charge in 2000. He got fined $2000.

http://footystats.freeservers.com/Speci ... eview.html

Other interesting things on here too. Forgot the Bombers lost their frst 2 picks, a pick in the PSD and got fined in 1999 for salary cap breaches.

There's also a small reminder of our bad trading on there too.

IIRC, the spew allegedly had a non-voting position (as if! :garthp:) on a board of a company at the time of the salary cap investigation and Brown effectively told him to get [REDACTED]!

And that company is a rival to Brown's business.

Agro touched on this!

I didn't see that post! :P

It's rewarding to Google the name of Demetriou's company and learn that prominent former Carlton directors were involved in deals with the spew's company. :garthp:

Who would challenge the draft penalties with his mate Collo at the helm?

"The Spew" is Chairman of a company called "The Baxter Group" who are involved in Waste Management/Landfill Industry - they are in direct competition to Brown's Family Group of companies in a number of areas - he not only has it in for Brown because Brown would not go "stoolie" like Orally etc, he also hates Brown because Brown's company's have gazumped Baxter on a number of developments.

By the way Phoenix - I really respect anything Ron Andrews has to say about the subject of Salary Cap breaches. Was he asked to comment on Essendon*'s.
