I think you Wojee and myself are the only people who feel Livo still could have made it.

No, but it should

Livo was dudded by injury and being thrown to the wolves in a shizen team. He's never recovered from either IMO.

Livo is gone - I've been told the club is seeking to trade for a 3rd round pick - I reckon we'd be lucky to get a 4th rounder!!!!

Unfortunately, I think Molsey and Woj have it summed up.

Based on what? When was the last time he got a bag kicked on him?

If you have a look (don't bother, it's boring), at some of my earliest posts re Livo, having read and not posted on TC, I think I may have been one of the first to use the excuse that he was a CHF as a junior, and not a backman, and that he was thrown into the backline....bla bla bla....the point is, I've always stuck up for him, despite the fact that he frustrated the shit out of me...sure injuries have played a major part...and today they still do...they have ended his career. That's a nice way to put it.

You ask about the bags kicked against him. OK good point. I think you're referring to his Bunny Neitz. How many shots at goal did he have against him? I ask, how many possessions did he get in those games? How much impact did he have? Did his opponent have the ball fed to him or did the opposition use a different avenue to goal in those games?

Look he is washed up imo, and has been since 2004.

We need smart mobile defenders that are think quick and are quick and can link up with the team to rebound....that's why Thornton overtook him in a blink of an eye. He doesn't think quiclky and when he disposes of the ball, he remains stationery. He's not a modern day footballer.

Yeah, he's the best we've got for gorillas, but I'm past the Mick Martyn cause. How many gorillas are there at FF? Lynch, Gherig, Richardson (CHF), Brown (CHF), Sandilands (resting)...you see there's not too many, and I don't think Livo has what it takes to match those guys.

Setanta has height and pace over Livo. That's my point. Move over Livo, the kids that have got what it takes today, not yesterday have taken you over.

Great guy and all that, but it's over. Plays too negatively. Doesn't add value. Leads to number of rushed behinds in the comp per game played. Whose side is this guy on?

If he has it or had it, he would have made it by now.

T-bird wasn't keeping Livo out of the side; it was Livo's inability to play football that cut his career short

The trouble with Livo is that we tried to make him into SOS Mark II. We were silly. That was never going to happen. Like others I would have loved to see him play up forward. However, he has had his chance and his time is up. Setanta and Bower are now the preferred choice.

Whats a 4th rounder - somewhere in the 50's? That's better than nothing and after everyone's patience with each other we owe it to him to find a home, if possible. Pick 50 could still be useful espeically if we take a F/S...

Neitz wasn't what I was referring too. I think Livo has been hard done by for the fact that he wasn't left on the ground, once he'd had a couple of goals kicked on him he'd be dragged and spend the rest of the game on the bench.

Meanwhile Thornton and Whitnall would have 6-9 kicked on them and we'd lose their drive from half-back while they were minding Lucas, Rocca or Reiwoldt from Full Back. Not suggesting he'd do a better job on these players, I don't think he'd have done much worse, but he was never given that opportunity to play a full game on them.

He doesn't provide the drive or disposal Thornton or Whitnall do, but he's close checking and besides 4 goals from Tarrant in the first half in 2004 I can't really remember a time he had a real bag kicked on him.

He'll be gone in 2007 regardless of whether Thornton stays or goes. I hope another club gives him the opportunity to show he's better than that.

Clubs don't bother to trade for players likely to be delisted who can be picked up for nothing. If we wanted to trade him we should have given him more games and at least made him seem attractive to other clubs.

He's a good bloke and tries hard, boo hoo bring out the violins. He's just one of many who wasn't anywhere near up to it.

Sadly, no dice for Livingston, I feel. Perhaps a chance at another club. I wish him every success.

Bryce Gibbs/Lachlan Hansen will be wearing number 4.

Unless Russell leaves then he will be wearing 2.

ok, so gibbs/hansen for 2.....then Nathan Brown for 4.....take over the fullback role in the jumper that was billed as being carlton's number 1 full back for 10 years.
