That's pretty disappointing if true for someone who wants to be club captain. Not good enough Lance.
Glad you enjoyed the afternoon TBG. Hope everyone who went enjoyed the afternoon.

And yet most suggest Fev should be captain and it sounds like he didn't front at all

You're right, he had charity work that he had to do, or at least that's what they said.

Yeah I have to say I thought it was pretty bad form as well, especially if he wants to be captain. Kouta was amazing had his little boy with him the whole time, talking to everyone the way a leader of our club should be!

He did an interview on SEN from the Shop so I'd say he was out and mixing enough.

Some are better at leading off field, some are better at leading on field.

Fair enough, but at the end he got up on the stage said a few words then ran back to the rooms right away when I think he could have spared 5 or 10mins to sign a couple of autographs for the kids that were there waiting.

I think that is an important quality for our captain to have as well, being approachable for the fans.

Better Tell Fev that to

Seems Fev has a few issues of his own to be sorted at the moment...not ready for the captaincy yet.

I agree TBG ...not good enough Lance. AW or Stevo for Captain I reckon.

Fev was off doing some charity work. I think that is a fair excuse not being there.

I have around 30mins fortage from training today, special focus on Diesel Jnr vs Dominator Jnr then Messiah 1 vs Messiah 2 and the rest various drills. First time filming live movement so I need to do some editing before I post it somewhere. Stay tuned.

Anyone tell me how to upload pics to the Talking Carlton albuM?

Make sure the images are no larger than 800x600px and under 200kb each, then upload them here: http://www.talkingcarlton.com/phpBB2/al ... p?cat_id=7

Once you've done that let one of the mods know so we can approve them all, ready for viewing.

People people RELAX! Whitnall was with Walker in the merchandise shop selling promoting and signing gear for all the supporters who were there.
Whitnall was well spoken and interacted very well with supporters very well! All the blues players who were able to attend the part of the membership drive did really well! Good on ya young blues!

That's right ACHILLES...They were in the shop the whole time, and Fev had other commitments for a charity. There will be other times to catch up with him.

All the players seemed to get into the spirit of the event. I especially enjoyed Skinny instructing the kiddies in the game that he was in charge of. Almost made me want to join in myself!

Some of you really need to relax and stop having a go at Fev and Whitnall.

As stated Fev had a charity function booked in before the family day was even thought of. He attended a cancer charity function where he supports many people less fortunate than us. Fev should be applauded not critised.

Whitnall was in the merchandise store talking to all the young kids and he was more than willing to sign autographs and have his photo taken.

Funny how many did not attend but could still critise

Also interesting to see Smorgan walking around the ground talking to the fans. I suppose despite if we think he is the right man to lead us I thought it was good of him to mix in with the faithful.

QFT - it should also be mentioned that Lance did media (radio) promoting the club while working in the shop.

I am getting sick and tired of the negativity displayed on this site. I am highly critical of the board and management, but the way people here carry on is just childish...

Eddie Betts signed my 3.5 yo son's guernsey and didn't spell out his first name. Just an "E".

Should I rail against his laziness or should I learn from it and just take it easy?

There is always idiots who have to make things negative around the place. Everyone did there part and from what I saw they were more than willling to be there and mingle with the kids. I can feel something special building around the place!
Another note did anyone else see Gibbs being mobbed by supporters. he was signing autpgraphs for a very long time and he definately feels like he is at home and looks very very happy along with all the players young and old. The EXCITEMENT of what to come is building up. We are not that far off ladies and gentlemen from being where we supposed to belong.

Every player Barnsey and I approached were more than willing to have a chat. Flinty loved the gossip from the Cazzes about the dishes, Harts and JR didn't argue either

Blackers was after all the gossip about DOA having a crack at me, all in good fun.

Waite, Saddles, Houligan, Bower, Ackland, Bentick ..... were great representation of the club and the spirit amoungst the boys especially Ackland was great to see.

How anyone can have a crack is beyond me. I don't think we can ever argue about the quality of people at Carlton that is for sure.

I have to say that the guy l felt really sorry for was Mark Austin.

He was sitting at the "autograph table" between Kouta and Gibbs, and it was one thing for a Blues supporter to recognise him, let alone ask him for his autograph.

Meanwhile the men either side of him were being mobbed.

When l think about it, the less pressure on a young draftee the better, so perhaps this is a blessing in disguise.

Come to think of it, the guy l feel more concerned for is Gibbs - the expectations being placed upon him by supporters and the media are way way too high.

Sorry! link did not work! If moderators can tell me how to upload to the site will do so. I think they are worth a view.
