Of course it is, but it can be won from 5th.
Generally the consensus is that Prelim finals are won because 1 team has had a weeks rest and is in a better physical position to beat the team that has played 2 finals.
The fact that we have the bye in r23 this year, is a major advantage for us. Playing 3 finals in a row before the Grand Final is not as big of an issue for teams like the Pies who will have played 11-12 weeks consecutively.
Also, i still think WC will drop a game somewhere... They are looking very tired and have nearly been overrun a few times of late..Freo were down byy 22 with a few minutes to go, and Dogs were 50 down...They play a taxing game, combine that with their travel and their youthfullness and I can see them dropping a game they expected to win...
In the words of Shane Whitnall...Go Tiges!!
We would have to win every game from here and the Eagles would have to drop at least 1. So we need to focus on a Melbourne final week 1 and a trip to WA in week 2.
We can win in WA and set up a prelim final against the Cats at the G - which of course, we also CAN win.
Thats is what i have been saying all along Duke. We are still well placed. Key is to make sure we prepare for the finals with heavy training loads around the bye.
Top 6 with a late bye has never been measured. 5th with a late bye could well be the new top 2.
If we get sucked into busting our arses trying to get into the top 4 at the expense of our own mental and physical fitness in the actual finals then we are very silly.
We will finish top 4 after the finals.
