I agree BM. But when they hand out prizes for finishing last, then it pretty much turns the whole world upside down.
I was in a footy tipping comp once where the prizes were a trip to Fiji for the winner, a widescreen tv + a home theatre system for second place, a $1,000 voucher for third place and a $500 Dan Murphy's voucher for last place.
After about 10 rounds of the season, I was sitting something like 800th out of 5,000 people and knew I couldn't win.
So I tried to tip loser after loser to get that $500 voucher. After tipping visiting teams in Perth, plus tipping the odd draw or two, I ended up 'winning' by coming last.
Let me tell you, as I spent my $500 at Dan's, I felt a lot, lot happier than the poor bastard who finished second-last.
Or the poor bastard who finished fourth, for that matter.
Should they give prizes to losers? No Way! Did they? Yes. Should I have tried my best and finished in 713th place instead of 5,000th?
I don't think so.
Boor and I hope you drowned in your guilt
