Yeah, but Mel Gibson, fine actor he may be, is a nutbag. And don't even get me started on his father...

Now seriously, nobody REALLY believes any of this do they?
You're taking the piss are'nt you Captn?

The club is nervous as hell about retaining sponsors.
We have numerous very short term deals and have lost 2 sponsors during the season already.

We have members attending our games and very few paying customers.
Each home game that happens costs the club a fortune.
Our resources are running at an absolute minimum thoughout the club.
We are in a desperate financial position!

You say Denis may want draft picks but Collo wants success and the club is desperate for it.
The players will tell you they despise losing.
Confidence and a winning culture should never be tampered with.
To suggest a decision was made at the start of the season is pissing down our backs and telling us its raining.

I agree , If they think the club was tanking it would come out when some of the players get cut at the end of the year telling the media, it's crap there isn't a lot of Carlton players who could tank with most of their future on the line, some of the leaders might but i couldn't think they are good leaders if they did + membership and sponsers wont touch the club also loss of money if no one goes to our game if we dont go out there and try to win.

I think the theory has some merit but only since mid season. No use stuffing up the PP by winning a couple too many. The fact that we haven't even been competitive in 7 or 8 games shoots down the theory IMO

Hey Capn are you the same one who used to tell all other posters to go forth and multiply?

Chuma,
That's definitely not me. With Clarkie winning the tankard again (Yeah very questionable .... I think AW deserved it by far, but I think the ABC thought he was too young to fill it with beer).

In relation to my theory on young Murphy, I feel the force in him is strong. The question is will he use it for good or evil. Maybe a pillow with home sweet home embroided on it may keep the young un on the path of good.

Captn Carlton,

I think most observers at either the Cats or the Blues will tell you that Clarke has earned a reputation for poor disposal. Not for desire, speed, not giving it his best endeavours or being a bad club man or for lack of putting his body on the line but for bad kicking skills and at 25 time has perhaps run out for him.

He was given a chance although I admit it was a very limited one to show that he had improved in that area and IIRC he was running in to an open goal and missed. Maybe Dennis and the MC think that he has been told often enough and it's just something that he can't fix at AFL level. At a lower level with more time to line up perhaps he could address it but we need him to hit targets.

It can't be a surprise to him as that criticism has been levelled for a few years now.

It shits me that coaches like Pagan,Sheedy and Matthews seem untouchable and never wrong. Some selection decisions and game moves are mystifying at best.Sure DP hasn't got good cattle, but some of the peformances have been worse than 2003.Carlton wont win another game in 2005 because some players know that they wont be there in 2006 and the attitude isn't there.A 3 year deal is too long. What if we don't progress in the next 2 years as where expected too.Dp will find out how good a coach he is in the next 2 years when the old excuses are dryed up.
