Rocca and Fraser are the two players they missed terribly. Tarrant is too inconsistent to be concerned about and Didak is in a similar boat.
You can only beat the team that fronts up against you, and the Collingwood side we just beat almost beat the Roos, a top 8 side.

I was all for finishing last and getting pick 1 and 2 and PSD pick 1 a month ago. But now I am just happy that we have some younger players coming through now.
Carrazzo, Bentick, Simpson, Waite and Fisher who have suddenly shown form for a few weeks now and all 22 and younger with less than 50 games. I still think we need to not win another game and get pick 2 and 4 but we have a lot more hope now that we are on the right track.
I dont care if we trade Lance, Campo or Lappin. They can stay on reduced contracts or be traded. Whatever is in the clubs best interests. I realise when watching my team play well that all the priority pick talk was is just a distraction to take my mind off how woeful we are.
Still need a cleanout of the recycled blokes who are not up to it and the long term view with our draftees.

Yes, and these guys are injured, e.g. Rocca has a raptured achilles. Those saying C'wood did not play their best players available - tell me who.

This should make it pretty clear:

I propose we don't win another game for the year. Frankly, I don't care how we do it. Rest players, play them out of position, give skinny kids games, whatever.

And don't make it sound like deliberately not trying to field a winning team is the Great Unspeakable. Hawthorn traded Nathan Thompson last year, KNOWING that it would make them far less competitive this year. That's tanking right there, and they've basically tanked the whole year on the basis of that decision alone.

Freo played the Medhurst game. Collingwood, during Tony Shaw's last days, make some very 'interesting' coaching decisions in those last few games. Most people saw Essendon*'s loss to Richmond, which ensured they didn't meet us in the finals, as more than a little dodgy.

If we do win another game, I'll despair. But of course I'll be there next season, and the one after that. Even if we turn into Geelong, I'll be there.

Is all hope lost? Of course not, it'll just mean that we've sabotaged ourselves and made our lot more difficult.

If people feel I'm suggesting they're stupid, then I apologise. But when the season goes like this:

PLAY UNBELIEVABLY INEPT FOOTBALL AND CRASH OUT OF THE FINALS RACE

GET GLIMMER OF HOPE FROM DRAFT PICKS

START PLAYING DECENT FOOTBALL WHEN IT'S ALL TOO LATE, LOSE DRAFT PICKS

Then I get so frustrated, I could smash my head against the wall. So much so that I'm typing this right now with my forehead.

You might not have noticed, but a lot of people I respect have stopped posting on this board or do the bare minimum because of the situation this club is in at the moment and the attitude of many supporters such as yourself.

People have been driven away.

That is a fact.

So what's your solution? Stop other posters voicing their opinion. If people can't handle a difference of opinion, and let's not lose sight that it is just that... A DIFFERENCE OF OPINION!, then what are they doing on this board??? Last time I looked, this was an internet forum... it is opinion that drives this site.

IMO Danny's situation is different. He was driven away because of the stupid, petty name calling (not because of the Tanking faction) and I don't blame him for that.

I can't see anything wrong with JohnM airing his views on tonight's result. He's entitled to that.

they're resting Didak.

They could have sent Balmey out to prop him up ala Weekend at Bernies.

Lets be honest: we got unlucky by having no injuries and now we're winning.

But look you tank-fans..... we haven't lost the PP yet. I bet picks 2 and 5 would get us the same players as 1 and 3 or 1 and 4 anyway.

It'll get more interesting if we beat Essendon* or North.

As far as rebuilding goes.... well.... another year into our young guys. A total culling of our hacks will help regardless. WORST CASE we have pick 5 and finish 14th.

Here's my prediction: We'll end up with Marcus Drum definitely no matter what happens, and maybe Murphy or Ellis if we drop the last 2.

And, in conclusion, we don't need a PP to make hard decisions about the list. I'd still hack and burn..... with supreme prejudice.

Plus, I dare say, no PP = bye bye Whitnall.... we could use all the picks we can get.

Great work John M. you've delivered your opinion in your usual considered style, but really what else can we do but go out and play footy to the best of our ability? There's absolutely no problem with the opinion you express, just like there isn't a problem with people who just want the wins, as long as they express their opinion in the same considered way. If anybody's given up on posting, come back and have your two cents worth.

JohnM, I think we'll push the Dons but we won't win another game purely on merit. We'll finish 2nd last unless the Hawks can pull something out of their collective arses.

Hawks still to play Essendon* tomorrow and Richmond next week. 2 winnable games if they try there hardest (?).
Collingwood have Adelaide away and the Dogs to finish. No more wins for them. PP here we come for them.

BB, in case you have not notice I love robust debate. :-D

But there are a LOT of people (not just dannyboy) who are just not posting anymore.

Your opinion argument is flawed, the majority of the people who are not posting any more, love a good robust debate and are strong personalities.

We have not been having that though have we (robust fair debate)?

I don't blame the tankers really. It the system that has caused this situation more than anything. Just going away for a few weeks is probably the way to go.

Heaven help us if we win another game.

Should we drop 6 senior players this week? Or 1, 4 how many? The tankers are an equation without a solution. A tunnel with an opening but no ending.

We're at full strength. The sides we've beaten aren't. Would we have beaten Collingwood at full strength tonight? Would we have beaten a top side? We did this last year & where did it get us? No point in getting carried away with wins like this or thinking the future is rosy again because it isn't.

I reckon we'd have beaten Colingwood with Tarrant, Didak and Fraser in the side. Rocca makes a huge difference though.

Why are we fighting? We just beat our arch enemy and we should be celebrating, singing the song, getting absolutely pissed (for those over 18 legally lol) and just waiting for Manndy to come in a face her doom. Let's stop the fighting and celebrate.

No. It is you argument that's flawed. Again I point out your first reaction to JohnM's post

How did JohnM's post not constitute a "robust, fair" debate as you put it? Please don't generalise and lump his post amongst some of the others- just because it happens to advocate a stance that you don't agree with.

He merely expressed his opinion and backed it up with reasoning. I must be missing something here....how is that going to drive people away from this site????? :?

Agree completely John........I'll be shattered if we win again this season.

We'll be inflicting OUR OWN DRAFT PENALTIES
