Well why do people complain about black friday if draft picks mean @#$%&! all... silly boy???

Fair dinkum some people post ridiculous statistics willy nilly to prove anything.

Look!!!... you either have talent in your list or you dont..
We dont... !!!

Hows that for an answer?

Where's the guarantee we'll get a Luke Ball instead of another Luke Livingston? There isn't one and we'll be no worse off if we can win avoiding the spoon and possibly improving Lance's etc, trade value.
And Livo is one of my favourites despite being the wrong choice like Sporn and Wiggins.

collingwood are a disgrace. the most blatant act of tanking i have ever seen. anyway, we need to get used to the fact that we have just stuffed things up big time. denis pagan is extremely selfish, and only cares about his coaching record.

we are not going to get murphy now, and we only hope he goes to brisbane rather than go to collingwood. there is a big chance that they could get the spoon if hawthorn wins this week or next, and we win another game because they certainly wont.

i was so angry last night after that win, but i am thinking more clearly now and think we cannot do anything about it. we need to take things as they come.

it is good to see the youngsters doing well, bentick, simpson, betts, carazzo, fisher, waite, walker, bryan. we have the nucleous of a good side and that makes things a bit better for me. we also have setanta, blackwell, russell, hartlett to get excited about...... who knows even jesse smith, raso might be gems next year. it may not look like it now, but we are not completely talentless. we just need to give them time to come out of their shells.

just think guys, if our CEO, coach, players etc dont give a shit about getting the priority picks, then why should we............... this is the theory i am trying to use to get through my anger.

It was very unfortunate that Collingwood lost against the Roos last week, becuase from that point on they clearly decided to give up on this season.

Imagine getting flogged out of the centre square, and keeping Buckley in the goalsquare, standing there getting cold.

In hindsight, it would've been impossible for us to lose last night. Collingwood, through a combination of injuries and *ahem* strategic planning, made it impossible for us to lose that game.

The lack of pressure they applied to us, it looked like we were playing a VFL team at times. I wouldn't be getting too excited about Bentick just yet, but good on him though.

Anyway, the true test will be rounds 21 and 22. If we even look like winning either of those games, I'd say that the football department will have done our club a grave disservice.

We shall see.

(is it too soon to already be advocating tanking for next season in order to clean up in the very strong 2006 draft? It'd be easy - just trade Fev and Lance and we guarantee ourselves a bottom 2 finish with a handful of wins for next season. Hawthorn did it with the Nathan Thompson trade, everyone seems to think that it was awfully clever of them)

You are right Juzz, there are no guarantees. But you get a better chance of winning the lottery with 2 tickets instead of just one.

is bentick crap?
is walker crap?
is betts crap?
is Waite crap?
is Fisher crap?
is Simpson crap?
is Carazzo crap?
is Thorton crap?

nope - they are all young and are showing plenty for me to not be too concerned about.

another question - was the brisbane lions team rated as highly in 2000 as they where in 2001? their list didnt change greatly is that season and look at the esteem we hold the Lions is.

Black, Voss, Ackermanis, Lappin, Brown, Johnston, Scott's, Micheal... hmm. not too many no.1. picks in that lot.

Not many of them actually arrived via the draft either.

being saying it all week the carringbush were not wanting to win and clearly looking only to win 5 games - I was barracking for the carringbush last week for that reason- first time in my life so they would go to 6 wins
As suggested a few hours ago the hawks will probably beat the dons this afternoon so we will be back on the bottom by 5.00 pm .However if dons lose this afternoon cant see Essendon* beating us next week playing like that either - especially if rioli and fletcher dont play

hang on I've got it, we'll trade campo for their PP

1) you don't need to use high picks to secure kids under father/son rule.
2) over my dead body.

Come on Hawks!

They're winning at the moment.... lets hope they get over Essendon* (and us in the process), which sparks Essendon* to fight back for some pride, draw with us in a tight contest sparked by the brilliance of Hird (hard to stop), and North just get over us with more to play for....

then everyone's happy!

(whats the bet Essendon* kick the next 20 goals, get ahead of themselves, and we smash them, beat North and pick Brendon Krummel with pick 5)

I think melbelle39 meant another Danny Roach and trading pick 7 for Chad Morrison.
