Maybe we can simply give Campo to Port as late payment for Nick Stevens

And give Port people even more reason to hate us?

Should make a movie... Campo catches the Greyhound into Adelaide and call it 'The Midnight Cowboy'..

Funny that.
I've been hearing he's been carving it up.

Would prefer Willits over any of them.

Seems the club are keen to sign Campo on the two year deal as offered.

Reckon will see some movement on this matter, Lappin and Lance as well by the end of next week.

Apparently Dennis has indicated that all three are required players.

Another summer day
Has come and gone away
In Paris and Rome
But I wanna go home
Mmmmmmmm

Maybe surrounded by
A million people I
Still feel all alone
I just wanna go home
Oh I miss you, you know

And I’ve been keeping all the letters that I wrote to you
Each one a line or two
“I’m fine baby, how are you?â€

I think whatever happens with Campo he's been a great servant and fantastic player for this footy club. I think he deserves to finish his career at the one club but if he doesn't then oh well. Anyone who plays the number of games he has for this club has my respect.

I agree.
Whether you love him or hate him, he has been a great contributer to Carlton. I dont think it is worth getting rid of him to another club, because 1. We wont get much in return and 2. It will end his career and he is better off doing that at the blues... well I would prefer him to anyway. And as somebody else said, i dont think any other club will offer him the money that he would like.
Good luck to him.

Have to disagree with you Surrey.

Rataining Campo is bad news for Carlton and hinders our progress in the long term. Releasing him will create a much needed vacancy for our youngsters to gain experience and cement their spot for the future. We are not expected to see finals action for another three years and Campo has two years left in him. He will not figure in our finals campaign when we start fielding decent sides. He also is a poor onfield leader giving us little incentive to retain him.

He may currently be in our best 10 players but at this stage it matters little. What matters is that our promising youngsters get at least another 50 games under their belt before we make a serious challenge.

He must be worth at least a third round pick. Both Lance and Lappin can at least make a valuable contribution however if the trade is right and in our long term interests, both are expendable.

Some are pro keep others say let go.

Denis may say they're wanted, but Collo will make the offers and it will be a case of accept the offers on the board's terms or move on under whatever deal can be arranged.

Heard some bloke say so, his face looked familiar but I just can't quite place it.

Can't agree with this, Gilham is a quality player who is always in the best for his SANFL club, he came to the club as a KP prosect that needed time for his body to mature. Port has stuck with him for three years and he really looks as if he's going places, playing a chad cornes role off half back. I rate him higher than salopek, so i'd be astonished if port delisted him after putting so much time into him.

I can't agree with this. It is time that our 2nd and 3rd tiered players stepped up to the mark. We should not have to move Campo out of the club for these guys to gain experience. They should demand an opportunity by the way that they have been playing.

Thankfully Carazzo had a wonderful season this year and Bentick and Simmo played some terrific games late in the season to establish themselves.

That is how we will improve folks, by younger players coming though and demanding the key positions in the side by their performance, not by some token 50 games under their belt.

Campo can play on the minimum.. whatever theyre offering him above award is too much.
Campo in my opinion did not demand his place in the side every week this year..
Running past players for a handball is offering nothing that someone else cant do.

Yeah, but its a double edged sword isn't it. The kids probably need somewhere around that token 50 games in order to really have built the confidence to take that next step and demand their place as you correctly suggest.

No i said id love them gawn....
Lappin and Campo have a take it or leave it offer... We all know that.

Lance...????Gawn!!!!!!

If we wanted them they would be signed up.. they have offers tabled and havent signed them.

Lance has more offered elsewhere.. so he will have to take much less to stay.. (Not sure how his personal finances are and its not my business but that and security will have alot to do with what happens)

Cant see anyone giving Skinny 3 years.. should sign...

Campo???? He stays at home and sings ....

Everybody hates me,
I think I'll go and eat worms.*
Long thin skinny ones,
Short fat juicy ones,
See them squiggle and squirm.

Bite their heads off,
Suck the juice out,
Throw the skins away.
Nobody knows ..
How well I thrive
On worms three times a day.

Long thin skinny ones
Slip down easily,
Short fat juicy ones stick.
Nobody loves me,
Everybody hates me,
I think I'm going to be SICK !!!!!!!!!!!

Ewwwwwwwwwwww worms!!!!!

Synbad, you know as well as I do that part of the reason for the delay have been Collos health and fall and that Dennis has been away.

Agree the club will not move from the two year offers and that is sound, never been a fan of the long contract. Advocated two year contracts earlier this year.

At this point in time the odds are good that all three will stay and as they have themselves admitted for less money. But as we know "footy is a funny game' and anything can happen.
