Swap Houlihan for bloody anything while we still can
Careful Tyrant or you'll feel the roth of BlueWorld

the Houlihan one is at the bottom of my list of priorities, granted
we're not exactly facing a "St.Kilda circa 2000 situation", but its similar. They had some veterans who were superstars and very productive members of team, but no middle/young tier (beside Hayes).
We have no superstar veterans who are very productive (except maybe Stevens), and have a good crop of middle/young tier players. Riewoldt walked into a side with no decent young players (except Hayes). Marc Murphy will walk into one with Walker, Waite, Thornton, Fisher etc etc. We'll have a young tier that grows together as of right now, but no one leading the ship. St.Kilda grew a whole brigade in a couple of drafts after 2000, but had some very productive veterans in the side to help them along.
our veterans are actually counterproductive and must go (with the exception of Kouta... and even then he should go in some capacities). We'll bank on the younger brigade, build their leadership and passion, while adding new topline juniors to the mix for a couple of seasons. I, personally, would look to add some experience from winning sides with very late picks in addition to the young players (like the Scott brothers), because they'll add invaluable experience and mentoring to the young players. We can draft in players of good character (like Murphy), and cut players of poor character, like Karl and (maybe) Fevola. We need to start setting a standard for performance, which is based on passion for the jumper and passion for teammates (not necessarily in the Shane Crawford sense, but ok, sure, if they want to).
What passion does Campo have when he expects an unrealistic wage and calls for cheap possessions that don't benefit the side? What passion does Lance have when he can NEVER get his body right? What passion does Fevola have when he's mouthing off to a legend in his 50s/60s who 40 years ago could have torn his head off by looking at him.
Where are the Bruce Doulls of the team? the John Nicholls? Even the Kernahans and Craig Bradleys? Where are the Silvagnis who sacrificed their careers almost for playing a team role?
They're not Whitnall or Camporeale.
They might be Lappin who chose to support us in 2002.
They're definitely in the hearts of Waite, Carrazzo and Bentick et.al who grew up in love with the Navy Blue.
