'Something blue'...

That is, without a doubt, the worst slogan ever written. WTF does it mean???

How about:

"2006, still playing for picks"

or

getting a spanking or are we tanking?

finally

if you are from the Tax Office the cheque is in the mail

I think they're trying not to promote hopes of any positive future, and have chickened out by saying nothing. Just a quick & easy play on the Blue name, but for that they could have used Blue Loo or something like that.

Is this official or just a banner for a short period of time on the website?

Thinking about it a little more...

Anyone else think that the line "something BLUE" is going to follow the whole idea of this young team as 'the start of something'...

Didnt McLaren say that's the message Denis and co gave him in a video?

Could make for an awesome TV ad, think about it.. the young team building towards something..

then short clips e.g.
"something exciting" - show clip of Fev drilling goal from the boundary line in Adelaide

"something passionate" - show clip of Fev drilling goal from the boundary line in Adelaide (hey, it's been a lean few years)

and so on, and son on, until...

"something BLUE" - With Kouta and Big Nick holding that footy from the last OO game...

If they make that TV ad, then this membership slogan gets the THUMBS UP from me..

(I should really get back to studying...)

Why not resurrect the Club slogan of 1991?

"Rebirth of the Blues"

2006 - Remember when we were good.

totally off topic but you realise this time 10 years ago we were coming off a premiership win. That is so Camporeale.

Yeah, like our Marketing Dept is going to fork out for a TVC. from what I've seen, they're amateurs playing in a professional's world.

Carlton are not a very good team, and have adopted a Marketing policy that focuses on the brand, rather than performance

What with the influx of kids coming through and more to come via this draft, the slogan should have been...

"A new era has begun"

If not in 2006 then certainly 2007 when Kouta has gone as he is our only remaining 1995 premiership year.

Doesn't have to mean anything John.

I think the point is that it got a reaction. It could have been "Carlton - Agapanthus!" and we'd all be talking about that too. They probably chickened out on that one as being a little too obscure and went for the vaguely recognisable "... something borrowed, something blue..." thing.

Or perhaps some lackey from marketing stuck their head in Collo's office and asked what he thought it should be and he said "@#$%&! off, I'm busy, just make it something blue..." :-D

No doubt you could have done a better job IS.

You must learn, young padawan, that the Club does not realise how best to use your skills. You must be patient or pain & suffering will consume you, as it did me. Anger leads to pain, pain leads to suffering, Carlton leads to frustration.

Live in the hope that one day the Club will truly appreciate the sea of support available to it and know how to put it to use.

Good advice .... this is.

Does the monogram look a little weird to anyone else? A bit too round or something?

Yeah the little pointy bits on the back of the C's are missing.

I'm going to start a campaign

Unusual that they've chosen (only) Waite to market with him. 'Next' Kouta perhaps? Would've thought they could have found room for Fev given that he is supposedly recieving a marketing allowance. Stevens? Walker?

Actually there is a bit of room between the two... perhaps they had Campo in there and had to have him airbrushed out :) .
