agree with everything you had to say except this
Quote:
Have patience, he'll be our best player in 2-3 years. I would say he has much better upside than Marc Murphy.

you say have patience and then compare him to a 17 year kid who hasn't even donned the jumper before! How do we know how much upside Marc has when we haven't even see him kick a ball yet?

you're selling marc short to prove a point about 1AW.

Hmmm, interesting. I was worried about his vision at times this year but Wojee may have laid my fears to rest.

I think we need no greater example of what patience can achieve than Jaz Waite.

The thing I hate most about football is having to share airspace with people of inferior intellect. Go sit with Richmond supporters for an example of this.

The only redeeming factor with Richmond supporters is that by halfway throught the season they have disappeared.

Here here on Walker....watch him go....he'll win games off his own boot before too long.

The hardest position this year would have been the task Walker was given. Most weeks he was assigned to play a negative role on the oppostions best player.

The kid is 19yrs old, playing along side the worst list in the comp and he is expected to negate his opponent.

Good luck, with our list slowly improving I'd expect Walker to be freed up next year and possibly Russell to play the negative role!

Let the kid loose and let him enjoy his footy.

He's as much of a dud as Lance is a superstar. :P

He was the second youngest player (I think) picked in the 2004 draft and I think for someone his age to have played 30+ games must mean something. Most 17 year olds would be seen as project players and would be wrapped in cotton wool.

I think the main problem is we don't have many great leaders or players for him to learn off so he has more pressure upon him to perform. I know it can't be proven but IMO if he was playing for the Eagles, Saints or Bulldogs he would be further advanced. Imagine what he or any youngster could do surrounded by Cousins, Kerr, Embley, Fletcher, Braun and co.

Watched him play in the reserves this year. I think Clarke had 30 odd possesions and wasn't that effective. Walker had 20 odd touches and was BOG by a mile for mine. He showed off his skill, (left and right) backed up by a nice goal on a tough angle. He has the skill it's just a matter of transfering it to the seniors and it should come with time.

Walker WILL be a great servant of our club.

Walker has also had the pressure of being our only top 5 draft pick since Luke Livingston ( ).

It's pretty hard to be seen as the only Cisco and not have too many Pancho's around to lend a hand.

Now we have Murphy and Kennedy to share the weight of expectations it should ease up a bit for him.

I really love what Walker's got to offer. It just needs time to mature.

Agreed.

I reckon the 'pressure off' factor next year will be good for AW.

Everyone will be focused on MM and the new recruits, hopefully AW will take this couple of steps up and stamp himself on the team.

I know a lot of people point to the Brisbane game, but I reckon AW's turning point was the game against Adelaide in Adelaide, again not a lot done in terms of number of disposals but he did a few things that indicate he is going to be a powerful player in a few years.

Patience, games 50-100 are going to be special I reckon. After that .... well here's hoping.
