I'm pretty sure that Walls said something like the Blues should be aiming to win one game in every three; if they won seven games they would hard pushed to win the wooden spoon

Jon Pierik was the only "expert" who thought Denis could be under threat if we have another bad year.

All of the others had Chris Connolly in that category.

And Wallsy predicted Geelong to finish somewhere down the bottom in 2005. He was a great player for the Blues but as a media peformer a useless, vindictive, character who seems so set in his ways. If there a two more hated commentaters than Walls and Dermie poohs I would like to know them.

I have to disagree with you there. I think Wallsy does judge Carlton harder because he loves the club. When he does commentate Carlton games he always praises Waite and other youngns. He is only puts down the club when he sees players who have been in the sytems for a whille and not taking the next steps in there careers eg Sporn, Davies etc.

I dont think we will finish last but we are not in the same class as St Kilda.

Walls sticks the boot in to everyone not just Carlton. Why do you reckon he went from premiership coach to sacked coach in 18 months.Because the players ended up hating him.Fact

As for Dermie also a great player but oh so full of himself and over technical.Dermie will tell you what is going to happen next and when he gets it wrong he is still right .The difference between him and Sam Newman is their both flower but Sam doesnt hide the fact he is one.

As for some of you guys Captain Kouta and co I reckon you have the blinkers and ear muffs on when it comes to Wall's commentary. He is paid to criticize players true but he goes over board in this department with all clubs and you can see that as a coach he would have been hell on earth after a few losses on the trot.

Walls does not love our club..."the former Blue... still has "a soft spot for the Blues but I don't lose an ounce of sleep if they lose"

pj i reckon he has more than soft spot for us and this comment is as much him indicating to the world that he is free of bias as a commentator. I really think he has a deep seated love of the Blues and would love to see them do well. I admit I'm a Walls fan. I don't find him over critical of Carlton ( and let's face it their is a fair bit to criticise at present). The club he truely hates is Essendon* (and their coach) and more power to him for that. I think he is one of the smarter commentators (not that that would be hard) and I cannot forget the amazing contribution he made as a player. And for a guy who was a sacked captain and a sacked coach he has put that behind him and I think shows no bitternes at the Blues. As Synbad pointed out, Wallsy doesn't see us much at present and therefore doesn't know us as well as many supporters. I don't think he'll give up media to be on the board, and couldn't combine the two, but his blood is navy blue

Tipping the Blues for 16th doesn't surprise, but the Bombers to make the eight???? Hawks, Bombers, Tigers are 1-2 injuries to senior players away from falling in a heap. Not hoping for this but...........

after last 3 years objectively we are clear favourite for the spoon but obviously hope we are better than that and perform better than that
Hawks Tigers and Dons arent significantly better than Carlton and could easily slip behind us if all doesnt go well and not entirely sure patching up of list at Kangas may not go horribly wrong this season

Dont rate Brereton at all except in the area of picking up women although without his secret operation that gave him an extra inch of vanity and cockiness I doubt he would rate with the ladies either....I rate Walls as far superior in the area of special comments and general football knowledge and still believe he luvs the club and wants us to be successful.
