I totally agree re Deluca. I was cringing everytime he got the ball tonight, Even when he actually managed to take a mark he was so slow with his decision making that he ignored 2-3 really goo leads only to kick it to a 2 on 1 contest anyway.

He fumbled, he bumbled and he stumbled and I cannot for the life of me figure out why he is in the team over O'hAilpin or even Bryan. McLaren is a more than handy bloke to push up forward for the tall man contest - play him resting at FF when not on the ball. I reckon he'd kick his 1-2 each week.

I know DeLuca needs time to develop and I don't advocate getting rid of him but just let him develop in the 2s.

As for Chambers and Sporn I though both played serviceable games for us. Chambers got limited game time but set up some nice passages of play and he was able to burn a few players off. Should be considered for the harder grounds like Subi and the Gabba.

Sporn, apart from a woeful mistake running into a virtually open goal (which ended up in a goal to us anyway) was pretty solid. He worked hard, kicked well and ran to make space.

awesome ... now I can sleep tonight.

Yeah, that was a bit weak Wojee.

Weak?

I honestly don't give a crap if people think it's weak, it's correct.

The funny thing is if he had said "7+6=11" and I'd pulled him up on it nobody would've batted an eyelid.

I liked the things that Deluca did right tonight. Some good ruckwork, a bit of contesting.

Having said that, when he was leading he had a very favourable match up and even then couldn't provide a reliable marking option. Dump him, I think he has a lot of potential but dump him, Santy shows more for now.

Out: Deluca, Chambers
In: Santy, Russell (if form permits)

Sporn was better tonight, as was Bentick.

I must have missed those moments. He was horrible and a complete liability.
Only CFC would sign a guy like him for 2 years - I'd like to know whats going on or what they are thinking when they sign blokes like him up

Oh yeah, and Deluca sucks. Been saying it for years. He may have a lot of potential, and he may one day deliver on it. But a rate his potential no better, and probably inferioir to Setantas. So if Setanta is fit he should come in.

While I didn't think Deluca set the world on fire. While we persist with kicking at the leading players feet, only someone Libbas height is going to have a good game. Delivery to Deluca against Freo was shocking.

And while people are bagging sporn too, he was our spark in the middle last night providing some run while others were standing still waiting for the ball to come to them. His only error I can recall was the shot at goal hitting the man on the mark.

De Luca is not up to AFL standard. HAs never put together one good game, shows a glimpse of something once a month. Has never kicked more than one goal in a game!
For a guy as big as him rarely stamps his physique on the game. Polaxing Schammer was the best thing hes ever done.

Fisher being out saved his spot in my mind. I get the feeling Pagan really really sees something in ADL. However Setanta and eventually Kennedy must replace him.

With the one-dimensional Adrian Deluca battling to cover the ground, Blues coach Denis Pagan would have loved to have had a mobile Brad Fisher on board.

Until he holds his ground and marks strongly - then yep give him a spell.

Bannister / Prendergast would have been better for us last night. Rest French / McLaren in the forward line.

Christ even Wiggins would have been a better option.

I really want DeLuca too stand up, for his sake and ours, because he is a reasonable kick, but unless you win the ball (through solid body work, and receive a freek kick or take a grab), he isn't going too get too many shots.

Why are you guys honing in on DeLuca ? And Sporn for that matter. We got butchered in the guts.Waite and Simpson were just so so.Bentick a bit better. Its these young ones that have to come on in a week to week manner or we are ratshit. They have been around long enough. Its now time to deliver.

Yes we got butchered in the guts but the truth is we also got slaughtered up forward.

We had the ball turned over at CHF so many times that if we'd had someone able to take 4-5 contested marks there for the game we would have won. Waite is as much to blame for this as De Luca, but Waite had a blinder last week, De Luca was his usual bumbling self.

I didn't think that Deluca was that bad, but having said that Santy is worth investing more time into..
I think that we persist with ADL because if his mobilty and ability below the knees for someone so tall. Not to mention a good work ethic.

Sporn was very good last night considering how much he has played.
I have alot of time for sporn, and believe he is quite possibly part of the clubs long term hopes.
