This time last year Justin had played three games and in each of them had about 3-4 shots at goal for a total result of about 1 goal 6 behinds and several OOBOTF. He was playing fantastic footy and he just wasn't getting the reults, got dropped and disappeared from the radar.

He certainly HAS the ability, but not the application.

Has certainly been superseded by the superior models in Betts and Simpson.

I feel sorry for him. He just isn't good enough. Poor guy.

Totally agree, I was going to mention that. To be suspended for 2 different incidents, meaning you miss the first 20% of the following season, when you are trying to establish yourself is just stupid.

I think his time is past, unless he can force his way into the senior time and play consistent footy there, and I can't see that happening.

One of the first heads on the chopping block come September.

FWIW, in 2005 Davies lost me as a fan. Having been a huge VFL watcher, I saw games of dominance, some great goals, some good bumps. There were some moments of stupidity but I forgave him because he was young and growing up.

2005 started well with 2 goals 8 behinds from 5 rounds, before he was dumped. But in the VFL he was woeful - getting aggro, missing kicks from 20 metres, perhaps what others saw but I ignored - because he was still young in my mind. And then to get suspended for 2 events, in amongst all his aggro and giving up 50m....

there was a time when both Mike & Dan agreed on something, which happens rarely. Davies would be cut after that end to 2005. It was over!

We were wrong, as it happens, but Davies is one extremely lucky sod to still be there.

Gawn, do we really want this sorta clown to spoil everything we are building.

Of that 1.6 the 1 was the most difficult shot of all and the 6 he missed were all relatively simple. Yes he can do the occasional freakish thing but can he do the basic things often enough?

Fev is a gun and I come to the footy to watch players like Fev do their thing and wouldnt have him any other way..he will stuff up every now and then but I will overlook that because their is nothing better than watching Fev sink the slipper into the footy from outside fifty and bang them through especially when he is being fed by Marc Murphy who already has established some rapport with Fev on the field......Fev will kick a bag when we win our next flag while Justin Davies will be plodding around for Shep United....

Justin Davies is a punk....always has been, always will be.....he is not a smart boy....chance of making the grandfinal in the reserves, a team he played all season for basically, and he commits two of the most stupid acts right in front of the umpire.....not only getting himself suspended but increasing his reputation as a moron....maybe Essendon* want him????

i watched him play the 2nd final down here in tassie for the bullants he was close to bog that day, but to me looked like a good solid vfl player who was never quite at afl level, a bit like brett johnson, he looked a bit undisiplinced at times and lazy, but on this day his disposal wasnt to bad,

I wonder if he's ever gotten over the traffic in Melbourne

I'm not so convinced that JD is gone, not yet. Nor do i agree with all those who believe his chances of playing first team football are over. ( Unless he is the player that Pagan has spoken to )

JD sitting out the start of the season i hope is his final wake up call. I unlike others like JD as a player, he offers us " Small Man Hardness " We need more hardness in our team, the only thing is that JD must learn how to be Hard but still fair.

Good Luck JD hope you earn your stripes and if not.... You wouldn't be the first or last who doesn't make it.

As for Fev growing up, he has so much so that he is thinking about life outside of Carlton. Life in the States as a Punter.
So i'll ask this question
" What would you think about Fev giving our club and game away come seasons end for a Punting Contract??" It is a matter of when isn't it??

Back on Fev it may be early days but up until a very unlucky suspension he has shown he has grown up. Watching him chase until he just about vomited is almost as exciting as watching him kick one from 60.

In relation to JD, yes he has ability and some toughness but he is incredibly self centred and lazy - a waste of talent

Thought this thread was an attempt to pump him up. Seems like attempts to pump certain players up have the opposite effect!!!

According to training reports seems to be carrying some sort of injury. Anyone know anything further?

Anyone know how his suspension works? Is it 4 AFL games or does it have to be VFL games. If it's AFL games should be able to resume next week- presumably in the VFL.

I don't mind him.... last chance though

Who cares about the original post, the general sentiment is loud and clear. I've been saying he's useless for years and finally everyone sees it and it's pleasing I can tell you. Everyone that meets him comes away saying the same thing, I knew someone who knew him in Shep. He's an asshole of a person and a useless footballer
