Ratts may need to get Vossy to be a character witness at the end of season review.

Here's something that's been posted by many.

If we don't give players like O'Keefe at least a couple of games, how do we know if he's even in the ballpark before we write him off as an injury-prone failure?
Watson was dropped and people went berserk that he hadn't been treated fairly. Well he's back and we want Thornton in his stead.
Ellard's qualities and faults are well known but we want him back in the team in place of ....Curnow. Curnow is fast. No, he's slow. He's soft. No, he's good at creating stoppages.
We need harder at it mids. Give Lucas a go. Put Collins in the midfield. Rest Bell, it's good for his development.

I know this is a public forum and full of people with different ideas but honestly, if we take it too seriously there is a problem.

Going for the Fab Four article impact I would suggest.

Agree too.

Great description of Curnow.
He does get a few errant kicks forward, but its hit and miss.
We need midfielders who can stand up and take the tackle and still dish it out.
Curnow can't do it. Ellard does it a bit better than Curnow, but not good enough.
Brock doesn't show alot of that either, and he's bigger and stronger.

Judd can, Murphy can, Simpson can, Scotland can, Gibbs can, Carrazzo can, Robbo does, and that's about it.
They need support though.
Bell has the body and strength to match to hurt, and I like that: ditto Robbo.
Armfield, Yarran, Betts and Garlett are pretty smart footballers, and can lend a hand in the middle.

Waite is the main target. Casboult lines up after him and Kreuzer rucks all day.
Walker makes a huge difference if he's right to go.

Good luck to PKeefe. Really excited to have a look at all the fuss.
I've seen him play live in red, and on TV, so tomorrow in the real stuff will be great. Hope he's not the sub.
Curnow would be a good sub, if the others can pick up the slack in the midfield.
Curnow does cover a lot of kms over a short period of time.
Stoppage king....gets to the contest....creates contest.
Sounds useful. :sly:

Watson was dropped and people went berserk that he hadn't been treated fairly. Well he's back and we want Thornton in his stead. Watson is a defender, Thornton is a fwd. Personally I want both in the team
Ellard's qualities and faults are well known but we want him back in the team in place of ....Curnow. Curnow is fast. No, he's slow. He's soft. No, he's good at creating stoppages. Much prefer Ellard ahead of Curnow
We need harder at it mids. Give Lucas a go. Put Collins in the midfield. Rest Bell, it's good for his development. We do need harder at it mids but Lucas is a HB or winger. More of an outside runner. Collins can rotate through midfield but isnt a pure mid. Bell should just keep playing IMO

I know this is a public forum and full of people with different ideas but honestly, if we take it too seriously there is a problem.

I'm not sure I get your point. People have different opinions, what's the issue? :?

You only quoted half the post.

Maybe you might find a clue in the half you left out.

He's taking the piss out of people saying they want one thing, then promoting an idea that directly contradicts it. He's not presenting views for you to comment on, he's providing commentary.

You're kidding arent you?
I dont give a !@#$%& what the situation. While we're still a chance to make the 8, I'll be hoping for a win even day of the week.

Ah...still clinging to delusional hope that this team can win the Grand Final?? Surely not. Or just wanting to 'make finals' so you can say to yourselves and others 'well, at least we made finals? Either way....I get your point of view ...undying, unwavering support of the team and all. But do you get mine? Where a win can be viewed as a loss...big picture stuff there...but 2012, imo, has been gone off and on field for quite some time. ok...it's gone 6am...I'm driving up to the North Shore for a surf. 87 degrees out. That can only be a good thing.

Well Doc, I'm glad you know what we are thinking. Lovely.

Of course, if you find things to enjoy, that must mean you can't think beyond that. Certainly, to wish for anything but total devastation, so changes can be wrought, is feeble minded.

Here I was just enjoying each game as it comes, but hey..you know best.
Enjoy your surf.

You didn't see the question marks?? I don't know what you're thinking...you tell me. Instead I get sarcastic retort. But credit to you and others where it's due. I do admire you for your unwavering support of the club...I just can't do it...In financial terms, I sold this stock at a loss after the North game. I'm hoping to reinvest in 2013, but that's completely dependent on changes that are required to run the business the way it should be run. Plenty of up-side...just poorly managed. I was hoping they'd be focussing on 2013 by now. My mistake...hopefully not theirs.

We're still hanging in there Doc and so as supporters we tend to do the same.

Might be better not to paint those who are holding onto their Carlton shares as misguided.

Your issues with the club are well known so it might come across as barracking for failure.

I'm on the fence.

Happy to ride each win home but realise the long term stuff is more important and hoping like hell we make a lot of good longer term decisions over the next few months (not confident though)

I agree Doc. With an unwieldy board decisions cannot be smoothly made high up at admin level which in turn mean things are not running as they should at the top. How far this filters down I don't know but can't be positive for the playing group.

It actually all starts with a good admin. We used to be the "business" club. Why are we so dysfunctunal?

I can almost start the answer. Everyone knows Sticks is a nice guy, but he is not really the ace in the pack is he?

We need a hard nut businessman. No not John Elliott. Someone like Richard Pratt or George Harris would be great just about now. People at the top who can make decisions. I don't know those (if any) who may have a foot in but I sure hope somebody puts their hand up and soon.
