Good point WBY.
I'd prefer to see Lance out of defence permanently. At times he was getting the run around from Gardiner who isn't even in the cats best 22. Red will get exposed continuously in defence if DP persists with him there. Without trying to start a shit-fight here, but it is almost getting a case of where to we play (or hide) Lance? He is simply too slow for AFL nowadays. His good when he gets it but gets exposed way too easily! It is a real worry for mine.

Maybe play him across the HF. Not as CHF but more as a tall flanker so he can create some space and offer a marking option. I want to see Livo at FB and have T-bird, Saddo and perhaps even Harts when required as the back talls.

Fev as FF and Fish, Carlos and Whits in attack. Carlos can offer similar aggression to Waite (albeit with less talent) and this can release Jarrad further up the ground. Jarrad probably doesn't have the motor to play too much through the middle but a wing/utility role might help him so he can find the pill and use his athleticism to greater use.

Tell you what, there is still a lot of uncertainty as to who is in our best 22 and even what area of the ground some of them should play in. A few weeks to tinker coming up I suppose...

Prez and Budzy, thanks a million. Budzy. I signed up to your torrent link in your signature, is it normal to take up to 9 hours to download a game, prez, is the link you were going to post any quicker????

For that matter, does anyone know if there is a quicker way and roughly how long should I expect it to take, I have no idea of these things.

pm sent

Yeah, we're some way off the best in the league but it is far from being all gloom and doom!

Thornton is a MASSIVE worry. He has really dropped off the pace. Barely AFL standard. The defence needs a good reconfig and with the addition of Saddo this will help, but I would prefer Livo in the last line as he is superior in the body on body. More a scragger.

No one would have been better at full-back with the way the game is umpired these days.

Any wrestle whatsoever and it is automatically the full-backs fault.
Kingsley got 3 or 4 goals from free-kicks? ... can't remember = but not one of them was warranted and the one he got even though he shoved HIS FIST into our player's face in a wrestle was beyond a joke...

The game is a now a bit more like the G(Ay-league) - no contact and no contests, which is what the afl wants.

Not that there is anything wrong with being gay by the way (to quote seinfeld) if that is your thing. it is just that when i watch football i want contests... not tiddlywinks.

not sure if was necessary having a go at soccer, but anyways

the over-officiating and soft free kicks to forwards is almost verging on bringing our game into disrepute! the powers that be are slowly ruining this great game of hours...
AFAIC, without other options, Livo is probably our only option at FB. T-bird is no good there, Saddo isn't a FB and others are still young and learning. If anything Livo just releases Bret further up the ground.

Absolutely marci, that free against Hartlett was pathetic. SOS retired at the right time I reckon.

I am worried about our full back position and I was disappointed with Thornton's performance tonight, sometimes he's just too relax and at times I thought he was quite slow!

And Betts as well, he gets pushed off too easily, and he has no 2nd effort.

betts has no second effort? now i've heard @#$%&! everything.

which betts do you watch on the field? he is out best forward for defensive pressure when we dont have the footy.

if all our forward chased as hard as eddie we would be laughing

Gezman...you really have no idea...."best forward for defensive pressure" pfft...he's actually our best forward, flanker, midfielder, backpocket for defensive pressure...get it right!

Poor bugger has chased and laid tackles over 3/4 of the ground and wonders why he gets taken off for a rest
