Given we only have about 25 players to choose from at present, it beggars belief that Jones isn't being picked.

To me, that says either he has disciplinary problems that no has heard about or a decision about his future has been made and we will pay him out (if we can't trade him for nothing). Form is irrelevant in this team at the moment.

Ruckman Robbie Warnock will learn his fate next week after scheduled talks with Silvagni and Bolton.

Warnock, 28, is off contract and was offered a two-year deal several months ago but told the club he preferred to wait until the end of the season before making a decision.

It is understood he would be happy to remain on a one-year deal, but will keep his options open for there could be about eight clubs searching for a back-up ruckman, including North Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney.

The Blues are confident of retaining Matthew Kreuzer, who is expected to soon sign a new contract.

Warnock had been on a lucrative deal and is recovering from shoulder surgery. He has managed only two matches this year and has not played since round eight against Geelong.

I am excited about the Kreuzer part. I think that article also says we are in the race for Treloar.

We are not in the race to get him at all.
Smart move from his manager and Giants to try and flush out the best deal from the pies.....
Trying to spook the pies to offer the world would be good to see.
Get the popcorn out and watch the show unfold.

Ok so an updated on my ideal scenario. Note I don't want to give the farm for Treloar. If he is available via the PSD then swap him with Carlisle in my list.

List Cleansing:

Retire: Judd, Carrazzo
Trade: Henderson (Pick 8), Yarran (Pick 14), Bell (2016 Brisbane 2nd Rounder, ~21)
Primary Delist: Armfield, Warnock, Jones, Ellard, Tutt, Watson,
Rookie Delist: Johnson, Fields, Russell

Outcome: 11 out on Primary list, 4 from Rookie List.

Trade Period:

Trade pick ~21 to GWS for Wilson and Plowman
Trade pick ~57 to Hawthorn for Sicily

National Draft:

Pick ~2: Jacob Weiterging
Pick ~8: Charlie Curnow
Pick ~14: Rhys Mathieson
Pick ~39: Bailey Rice
Pick ~75: Jack Silvagni
Pick ~93: Ciaran Byrne (Upgrade)

Pre-Season Draft:

Jake the Snake Carlisle

Rookie Draft:

Pick 2: Mark Kovacevic
Pick ~20: Daniel Rioli
Pick ~38: Deer with no Eyes
Pick ~56: Matt Korchek

When was the last time a really good player changed clubs via the PSD?

I predict Treloar will end up at Collingwood via a trade and Carlisle will stay at Essendon*.

I also reckon we'll be disappointed if we think we'll get #8 out of Geelong for Hendo. They will want Menzel as well for that I reckon.

And unless Richmond gives their first pick, I hope we play hard ball with Yarran. He has a year to go on his contract and I hope Bolton can convince him it's a clean slate.

Sign Kreuzer up now. I don't trust the AFL to give us band 1 compo for him.
