You've both mentioned Bell for Bris/GC second round pick.
Personally I don't see either team giving up pick 20-25 for Bell, especially when they have all the power if he does request a trade home. I'd lower the expectations a bit on this trade.

He has a contract with us for 2016, I am not sure how you would think they have any power.

Lol, at the right price you'd keep him for backup as we have nothing else.

The price may be half a bag of crisps and an out of date big m but when you've got nada except Wood and the physically unreliable Kreuzer then you're stuck.

They've got the international rookie as a ruckman to develop and I'd hope they'd get another late in the draft to develop also

Korchek would be better value as a backup ruckman than Warnock.

No he wouldn't, I'd have a look at Korchek as a development ruck though

An almost straight swap for Bell and Aish could work. Bell is now an established AFL player who has improved every season, even though he is still a bit untity, I think he would get a game for pretty much any side bar the top 4.

Aish is out of contract also

I think it's rare for a player to request a trade to his home state for personal reasons and not be granted his wish. IF Bell nominates a club of preference then that club is in a strong bargaining position whether Bell is contracted or not.

As an example, Allen Christensen was in a similar position last year and Brisbane gave up pick 21 to get him. I think Christensen is worth more than Bell, so therefore I'd make Bell's worth at around pick 30-35.

If we're likely to get anyone in the PSD, it's Aish (not Carlisle). Brisbane won't re-draft him if he's checked out. We could certainly play hard-ball with them and threaten it, or we can do the right thing by Tom Bell and get him back to QLD and get a younger, better skilled midfielder in return without losing a pick in the process. I'm sure someone said Trigg is friends with Aish's old man too. If I were to put any money on a trade, this would be it.

If we end up with that pick we can use it to get rice for the right price..

You are obviously not doing any background checks on Christensen.
Geelong were pretty keen to piss him off.

Yep Bell & Christensen are polar opposite scenarios here.

Beams nominated Brisbane only and Collingwood still probably won the trade (crisp, pick 5 & pick 25 which become greenwood). I know Bell isn't Beams but it shows that no matter why someone needs to go home, if they are contracted, you hold power.

Your sauce? My understanding is that Geelong were very keen to retain Christensen but when it became apparent that he really wanted to leave to go to Brisbane Geelong did what they could to make the best of the situation. BTW Brisbane was not home for Christensen.

Beams is a premium midfielder and teams always pay market value for those types. I don't think that's a fair comparison either.

I'll disregard all comparisons and just say that if Bell requests a trade this off season I'll be surprised if either QLD team give up a pick in the 20-25 range for him. That's the crux of my argument.

Beams was also contracted.
Treloar is uncontracted, your market value theory will be put to the test.
Treloar is worth just as much as Beams, if not more.

Lets just wait and see if Bell requests a trade and if he does what we get in return. I've made my position clear, no matter his contract status he's not worth pick 20-25.

If I'm wrong I'll happily accept that we got a greater return than I expected.

Swap for Bell or good luck at his new club.

The exodus out of Brisbane is staggering. We're shopping some players and then seeing them become disgruntled, but Brisbane are trying desperately to hold on to players and just can't stop them walking out the door.

If you want someone to help with building a young list get this bloke. One of the nicest people you will ever meet and will be a real leader. Quiet and unassuming but a gun. Highly underrated and would be brilliant around Cripps, Murphy, Gibbs, Graham etc. If we can get him as part of a deal with Bell I'd jump at it.

Gut feeling is he will go to SA but you never know.

Yeh but what does Yarran want.? He needs to show us with action not words if he does want to stay. He is showing the opposite right now.

Sorry but we need to do what's best for the club.

He can bugger off. His attitude over the past few months should never be tolerated.
