Well put SOS, and a sensible take on it.

And BV is right, a lot of little green eyed monsters lurking behind keyboards on the internet. Some I thought would be above all that.

For what it is worth, quite a few people at the club thought Lappin was not going to sign the lesser contract. The fact that they talked him around is a plus, not a negative.

Very true, Mrs C - and that's exactly how I deduced it from all the newspaper articles, too 8) .

Any oop, I've now learnt that the inside info from some is rarely much better, if at all, than Carro Wilson.

Why people can't take things at face value I'll never know.

Who cares who gets their info first, how they get it, or why they get it. Can't we just all be happy to read some gossip about our footy club without feeling a need to cut people to pieces if some "sauce" is past it's use by date from time to time.

I'm getting pretty fed up with people trying to prove to others that they're better than the next person.

We all love Carlton, why isn't that enough!!!

See that's why I liked bluehammer's scoop a few pages ago. Broke his own story.

No ifs or buts whatsoever.

I'm with you, BM. I reckon if I sat on my garden chair in the Royal Pde car park entrance and swooped on all players and officials as they left the ground, I too could have a few scoops.

In fact, has anybody ever seen Barb and Synbad in the same room at the same time :P :P .

We all read
Campo - Gone
Lappin - Gone
Lance - Gone

No doubt about it, and I swallowed it hook, line....

Here here CB.

I'm with Danielle on this one. Lets not forget the only reason Lappin signed is that no-one else was willing to give him a 3 year contract.

He knocked back a $400k/year contract X 2 years. Dont tell me he didnt shop around. Now he's signed because the rainbow didnt lead to a pot of gold.

Great player but I'm not that enthused about him signing. I'll leave that sort of revisionism to the KopHeads

Exactly budzy. Most of us have no idea, but these people have the inside knowledge and are pretty spot on most of the time. Synners posts more than the most, so he garners ultimate respect... Good work. Even inside mail is only true at the time of publishing...

Synbad has the runs on the board.
I prefer listening to inside mail than cheap shots.

Agree with BV...Synbad over the years has provided us all with some great inside info and is half the reason why many have followed both TC and TBV back in the old days...every season now we have prove Synbad wrong posters who seem to devote their time trying to cut Synbad down to size rather than contributing anything themselves...as BV said he has the runs on the board and the credibility that the fly by nighter so called inside experts dont....Walker, Russell...we all knew first courtesy of Synbad ..where were all the other so called people in the know then....I'll tell you ..scouring the other forums for info and then try to pass it off for the real deal over here...no thanks..i'll stick with what i Know and trust...

I think the most imortant thing about this thread is skinny re signing,

But id also like to just say that in the world there are a few different types of people.. there are those that do get up off their arses and make the contacts.. ask the questions and put things on the line... and there are also those in among all the little pidgeonholes of people that sit on their arses.. contribute nothing and just slag those that are proactive because it makes them feel better....

Hopefully TC doesnt go the way of the training sessions when some training watches stopped contributing because they were bagged by the ones that sit on their arses waiting to be spoonfed and criticise those who do the work about their observations.

If it continues to go that way TC will be a morgue....

And the moaners who have nothing to contribute but to bag those that do some groundwork know who they are.....

And Mark???Your eyes are definitely very GREEN...

Cheap shot at someone like me hey Synbad. Well heres my contribution for the year.

I was at a dinner party last night and sat next to a guidance Counciller who spends most of here time helping younger players adapt to Life in the AFL. She used to follow Carlton but now hates them with a passion.
Want to know why . She spends half her time trying to get the players paid and she says that Carlton is by far the worst club for paying their players and this was the major contributing factor to the on feild performance and the lack of interest of players comming to the club.

She said all clubs were guilty of it but we were the worse - Started in the elliott days and has progressively gotten worse over the years.

i didn't know her from Adam - She could have been talking Crap . But it was an interesting conversation any way and it could have some merit.
