Well so far the only media outlet report (AAP based spread across Sportal and Fox) names Robert Murphy as the impressive one of the two.

Cazz was your friend on the sauce? :(

Murphy didn't even kick a goal despite being picked up by a wingman and you would have put money on Walker being exposed by a star in Murphy.

And we still won! :)

Go Blues........Yeah I'm having a lot of fun tonight at Bondi Beach, and have a few bets on....this post will probably go on for the duration of the game, so any news, of importance we'll pass on (if capable)

There was a SSSSHHHHark at Bondi Beach yesterday and so we tried to piss him off, as he deserved, so out of pure cowardness, quite a few people wanted to leave the pub and have a dip, and a couple after that at my joint tonight after the 2pm start at the local (after race 3)....I served up TC to the crew for the first time at my joint, and others were interested to watch the cricket on the screen whilst in full view of TC; of course whilst having a dip, and a sip after the humidity dropped from 70 odd to 35-40 today; thank god, it is going to be a free for all on TC, so here goes...I'll try to edit.

We're in front, and the boys are serious.

1/4 time and we should have been further in front. A couple of biffs. Murphy looking good, It sounds like everyone is doing well. Livo on the bench.

Commentary tonight from my place, (and we're still lovin it) are as follows:

PS: not one Carlton supporter apart from myself and an ex player here out of 17, as the Irish lads are still at th Beach rd, and an ex Lavington Presi..no no...prestigious fellow and his son, who know I don't like bullshit about Carlton too much are feeding me the information we need. direct fro Laivington b phone..too hard to relay; as I can only be in one place at a time, oral, missionary or other. Well here comes the oral...

Comments from the Bondi party audience:

1. I reckon that the Blues will surprise a lot of people this year, and I bet most of them will be Carlton supporters and not Collingwood. We ( collingwood supporters) have more respect for the blues than their own supporters, losers...BondiBlue here back in control....my response to them ...... or a new wife???....I don't know, as I don't think I'm god like some of them....sorry the keyboard is being attacked by ferals,,,not Carlton supporters but....mabbbbbbbeh0pcojn.

Here we go

2. Does Pafloyl the flat Pavlova barrack for the Mighty Bomber, because you must...I love you if you do...what you had to say about them....yeah back to Bondi here, flower bomber is referring to your smartarse comment at 7.03pm...Wh...blah...blah,,,,are the best missing out of the Doggies.....something about "rabble"......yeah good onya never heard of you in my life, so you must be a Port Melb fan.. off with your head!!

3. Billy bongo, man of my heart...I agree with you about the rabble toawrds the spoon andojgjr...Bondi back here....BillyBongo....light up...you made a fool of yourself too...now go to another site....these Non Carlton fans are feeding off your comments.

4. I wont let them type their responses to mjonc and nightcrawlwr, because I respect them too much,,,,but you are making it hard for me with comments like...'seems so respectable' and 'are you sure'....I copped too much over these comments...I wont forget...you're pretending to be Carlton supporters

5....I don't know what you said Wet willie, but the Swannies supporters liked it...must have been bad...guess something about " how many fingers" or something.,...well if you're hanging shit...check yours...if you are not hanging shit , I'll bash these guys for you.

6.azzablue...my main man...notes on you are not good from my angle, but good from the Bomber here...something about.... Livo at around 8.25-8.30....the party thought it was funny so I'll assume I should tell you the get >>>>>>>>>.d, over that one. I hope that was appropriate, as the crew here are pissin' themselves about Livo.

7. pie supporters here mate...good one about Delucca he could catch pox......Bondi here. thanks for the smatarse comment Rhys26....it's about time you sent in your photo I reckon., and get these guys to laugh at something else, instead of the Deluca comments

8. Has anyone followed SSHHH comments over this typocast from Lavington tonight? The boys thought he was funny at the beginning, but were disappointed that he jumped onto the bandwagon at 8.48....at 8.48 he's on the bandwagon. I'll greet him at the unveiling of the flag alright!!...with a beer, one with alcohol and one without....I wonder if he'll know the difference? Either way he's a winner.

9.Wet Willie...you are are our mate, we love rugby and keep hangin shit on himm about the blues....thanks willie,.... bondi in control of the keyboard again....so when was the last time Carlton won two games in a row....smartarse....making my life more difficult than it already is.

10. Sydney Blu...something you said at around 8.55 pm that the pricks really liked here. I've got no idea, but I will check it in the archives...you better be nice to the Blues....or...I'll check it later

Just won $.(x)..000. ..Suckers.....non of that money came from negative Carlton fans either, just imagine, I would have really cleaned up

11. SSHHH...what a black cloud....siad something about "Livo sat on his arse"...oh SSSHHH Livo doesn't decide that, Pagan does. Get out of your office chair and have a go at Pagan about Livo, or go and tell Livo for yourself, and he'll probably do you a favour free of charge..another cheap shot.....and then around 9pm you say ..."even I'm happy."....I couldn't give a shit if you are or you aren't because I just can't tell....the boys here think you are a Richmond supporter, and I sort of agree with them, but I have to remind them, that you've been going to Carlton games since you were 1. Turncoat.

12. Synbad, these guys here think you are "sooo nice"...saying something like..."you can't do better than a win today"....forward that to KevinSheehan and SSHH...that'll shock'em...then send it to yourself...you wont believe it was you, unless of course. you're on acid, or you are seeing the light.

12...I don't know exactly what mjonc, tommi and shakin77 posted, but it's something to do with match ups....and not putting in....and the the pricks here (non Carlton) are having a laugh... anyhow they are laughing at me for supporting the blues or are having a lend of me....I hope you two didn't set me up....I'll check your posts later.

Thanks for all for your input tonight ...we've had a good time. As for these pricks at my place right now, I'll fix 'em up good and propoer; the toothbrush photos will look good tomorrow, and when I catch up with TC tomorrow I'll find out what has really been said, and what hasn't ( and I apologise in the case I've been baited by these hoodlums from the other side) . I'll read this in the morning.

But while I'm here, let me say this to those who are constantly negative; some are original , intelligent and funny, but the others I do not know who you are trying to impress, but your negativity does not come natural;....do you have a fear of alienation. Don't feel lonely, you're a Blue Bagger; enjoy our success; it's the norm for us. You don't have to be negative or miserable to impress; just be a true die hard Carlton Supporter. Barrack hard. Be impressed, not surprised and remember... We won again tonight.....enjoy!!!!

Go Blues

Just got back. Whole squad played except for Flint I think & not sure ever saw Livo get out of his track suit! 7 on bench I think. Didn't see a lot of Blackwell, Russell, Prender. Chambers & Sporn a bit of time, not much.

Bulldogs seemed to have a full team- West, Johnson, Smith, Grant, Murphy, Gian, Cooney etc.

Betts was electrifying, making something out of nothing. Snapped 3 goals.

Simmo & Murphy all class. Stevens, Lappin busy. McGrath pretty good in defence. Stevens kicked a great goal from the boundary. Kouta, Carazzo, Bentick quiet, on & off a lot. Scotland, Bentick still turning ball over a lot.

Fev & Fisher very good early. Marked strongly, kicked 2. Faded in second half- off ground a bit. Waite also good up forward. Whitnall mostly played up forward, kicked one goal. Teague didn't get a lot of game time was OK when on & took a few courageous marks.

Houla went down with a knee injury after about 2 mins but eventually came back on late 2nd Q, seemed to be moving OK after limping badly when came off. Played most of rest of game & was pretty busy. Kicked a good goal from the forward pocket.

Dogs had a few easy shots late in the game but missed. Game could have gone either way I guess though we also missed a few. We were certainly competitive so no reason for all the pessimism of 2 weeks ago!

Interesting to note that Fox Sports had our two best players as Simpson and Fisher, our fIrst 2 picks (NO'S. 45, 72) in the initial draft we were banned from in 2002. Both had to be better picks than Goddard!!!! Thank goodness they banned us........lol....might not have got those 2 guys otherwise!!!!

Great stuff . I am very proud of the boys.

The only thing better than winning is when you read young players, young carlton players, heading up the Best List.

Fantastic stuff.

Robert Murphy has been kicking bags of 4 and 5 goals in previous games playings as a quick leading forward. He was goal-less in this game. I'd say that is a win for our boy, wouldn't you. :?: :?:

Regards Cazzesman

G'day Guys

Been reading reports on this forum for some time now, so seeing that I was at Friday night's game thought I'd better register and reurn the favour. Bare with me as this is my 1st post.

Match Overall
The match overall was of a good standard which was remarked upon by a number of spectators bulldogs and blues fans alike. There were a number of skill errors but no more than you would expect at this time of year. We made a lot of decision making errors which kept the doggies in the game. Enough of the negatives as there were plenty of positives. Our tackling was great, which after last year was fantastic to see. Our forward line looked potent when ball kicked in well, backline competed well and we probably won the battle in the middle.

Here's a couple of individual player reports:

Lance Whitnall
I will probably get crucified by the anti-Lance brigade on this board, but he was superb. Consistently led his opponent to the ball, and when Chris Grant was moved forward gave him a good old fashioned towelling. Turned defence into attack with great use of the ball and showed composure when needed

Marc Murphy
He's the real deal. At the bottom of most packs, clean hands in tight and knows where to find the footy. Will not only play every game this year (barring injury) but will spend plenty of time in the guts.

Eddie Betts
Ignited the crowd with his 3 goal third quater. Caused defenders to panic with great chasing and pounced on any crumbs or fumbles. He was the highlight of the game

Great report born in 72

Cazzesman... that is a win on the practise game tally.. but in my opinion a loss for Walkers footy.

why? because he might just become the running Half back we need? It is not the wingman we need, it is Half back flnaker that can keep a dangerous (and fast) forward under wraps (Ablett/Murphy - Robbo?) while giving us the run we need from half back. Walker played half back before he came to Carlton so it seems that may be a good position for him (for now). Now it may not be the position he most wishes to play in but bad luck, it just might be the best possie for team balance, structure etc.

Dannyboy you almost sound like you know what youre talking about.

He did indeed play HBF that season before he came to us but he was an attacking HBF abit like Joel smith not the defensive HBF he is now.

In fact most of the time he was the guy being tagged by the HFF.

He also played some brilliant football in the forward line.

The coaches he played under.. whether they were for Australia in the Irland series... Vic Country or in the TAC used his as an attacking weapon!!!

And thats what we saw him in when we drafted him.....

McQualter who was natural more defensive orientated was overlooked by us that year and taken by the Saints the season after...

Goddard's had the same time as Simmo and and Fisher. Well's would've been very nice but if we got out picks would have we still picked Simmo and Fisher. Might have been and different mindset in selection by no 45 and who says we wouldn't have passed our selection at 72 by then. I think with those 2 players, on top of Walker and Stevens the next year, we got out of draft penalties pretty well.

AB started in the middle but struggled to get in the game. Spent some time on the bench and was replaced in the middle with Murphy. Not one of his better games which I'm hoping is an exception as I am a fan of his.

yes and going by reports he was attacking against west coast (25 possies), certainly was against geelong and last night? Anyone? Seems he is developing that attacking game.

Against geelong he was at times blistering in his run forward. i can see him running off Hb and kicking goals but, and this is the big plus for mine, he is also beating very well credentialled opponents (Ablett and Murphy) 0- all in all I am extremely pleased with the kid's development.

AB made a few disposal errors & was taken off. Did start in the middle with Carrazzo & Stevens. Kouta started in the forward line.

Tend to agree with Synbad on 1AW, with what I saw last night. While his job on Robert Murphy probably got us over the line in the end, his game was very defence oriented and I only saw glimpses of the run and attack we all know he is capable of. On the plus side his defensive work was 1st rate andhe did manage to pull in an absolute screamer.
