You people are dreaming if you think only offering Pick 2 will land Treloar.
Plus He is going to the pies.

What are the Pies offering that is better than pick 2? :?

If Kreuzer leaves i don't trust the AFL giving us pick 2.
If we get pick 2 it will definitely not be offered for Treloar.
We cannot match the contract the pies are putting up and also he wants to go there.
He will not be coming to Carlton.
Pretty simple but feel free to keep dreaming.

Try again by actually answering the question.

Last time i checked we don't have Pick 2 ...... :?
So how are we offering anything better than there first pick this year and next
I doubt very much Pick 1 is on the table for him.
Collingwood is also offering the player a better contract.

But don't let me stop you from dreaming...

Nice write up Rhino, agree it might come down to paying one or two out to clear space for newcomers. It won't/can't be Jones, and I really hope Warnock doesn't get another year. I'd rather Casboult and Wood, with another project picked up with a late pick this year.

If we lose Kreuzer you can bet your boots Warnock will be kept, unless he wanted to go himself.

I'm a Kreuzer fan but the club have rocks in their heads if they retain him when pick 2 is possible. Must look at the bigger picture.

Don't worry Silvagni isn't stupid. One reason Kruezer hasn't signed and it's because we are waiting to see what compo pick he will be worth. Warnock will be gone no matter if Kruezer stays or goes.

Isn't Warnock contracted?

out of all supporters I've come across since brisbane won yesterday, stk seems to be the most angry with the potential of us getting pick 1 & 2. Strange. Their board on bf is in meltdown mode.

No. Out of contract this year, hence sign him for peanuts if Kreuzer goes.

I'm sure they had no problem with gaining #1 and #2 in 2000 by just being shit and without having to give away a quality player to do so....

Waldron admitted on SEN once that they virtually tanked to get those picks.

StKilda supporters despise us with a passion. They would love nothing more than see us stay down at the bottom like we have been for the past 15 years, while they are challenging again. Its in their blood. They have enjoyed our demise more than any other club supporter.

I would Take a 2nd round pick for Kruz with Joy, in fact any pick inside 20 would be more beneficial than keeping him on our list!!

The Potential that he has is no longer relevant. Do not be deceived by the 2-3 good Games he was able to put together. He is 26 and Injury prone, full Stop.

Doesn't matter where he plays, he will always break down and sit on the sidelines for weeks on. This is the time to get something decent for him. He had 8 years to prove his Potential, it hasnt happened and it won't happen.

I believe Trelor has been offered and accepted $650k for 7 years by the Pies. North has matched the offer in dollars but not in years. They suppposedly offered 4 years but he knocked it back. Not sure if there are a few other incentives also offered by the Pies. Like a lot of clubs North were a bit worried about offering those dollars over that many years.

Can someone tell me if it is only the dollars offered, where the player sits in our list, and the age of the player that are the determining figures for the AFL to give us an early compensation pick? Henderson would match the criteria on age and would most likely be in our top 10% which would then mean the financial offer would be the tipping point.

I'd still test the waters by offering $700k a year over six years, picking him up via the PSD.

Getting Treloar through a PSD will not happen. He wouldn't want to leave that way. It isn't considered a good way to do business. The Nick Stevens falling to a PSD are very few and far.

Provided the opportunity is there - and we won't know unless we ask - now is the time to be ruthless. And bold.

It's a long shot and is more unlikely than likely, but have a crack, roll the dice, see what numbers come up.

Treloar might want to do the right thing by GWS; good on him if he thinks altruism is the way to go or will make the pile of money easier to sleep on. Everyone has a price.

Looking back for a bit of perspective.

Last preseason we lost or delisted: Scotland, Waite, Garlett, Robinson, McLean, Duigan, Lucas, McInnes, Bootsma, Temay, Cachia, Reynolds.

Of the new players we brought in who played seniors I rank them on their 2015 season as follows:

Boekhorst - Most polished of the draftees and should improve with increased tank.
Dick - Unfortunate name. Played ok when he got his chance. Might have a future.
Tutt - Ball magnet and gutsy for his size. Disposal nowhere near good enough.
Whiley - Might be something there to work with. Maybe.
Jaksch - Disappointing. Looks to have skills but needs to do a lot of strength work.
Smith - A bit disappointing. Seems to have some smarts. Maybe small forward material?
Walsh (Rookie) - Clearly ok VFL standard. Knows he needs to work hard preseason. 12 more months.
Fields (Rookie) - Very borderline despite the great kick on him. Maybe another 12 months.
Jones - My preference would be to pay him out. Just don't think he is any good.

New players who didn't get a senior game were:
Foster - Would have got a senior game or two late in the season if he hadn't got injured.
Viojo-Rainbow - Needs fitness base and strength work.
Gowers (Rookie) - Had some fans early in the year and got injured. Dunno.
Russell (ineligible Rookie) - Experiment who hadn't played footy for a couple of years.

Maybe four or five of these players at most will still be at Carlton in three years' time. Boekhorst most likely IMO. None stand out as keepers yet but several might improve with another pre-season and a new coach and game plan.
