The thing with Watson is that he has been at the joint since 2011 pre-season and there has been NO improvement in any area of speed, recovery/agility since then so why would would that change in another 12 months? Why hasn't that shit been worked on already since he arrived at the club? What's going to change now?

Cut our losses and chop. Simply does not have all the attributes needed to be an AFL player

I thought compo picks were announced after the deals were done.

Everyone salivating over pick 2... what will be the reaction if it's pick 20?

Pick 20 worst case is still good.

Disagree. I would definitely rather keep Kreuzer if the return is only going to be pick #20.

I would probably take something in the region of #20 for Yarran or Menzel. Hopefully we squeeze a mid-teens pick out of Geelong for Hendo.

Kreuzer should only be given up for pick 2.

And we should be totally comfortable in naming a satisfactory price for yarran and Menzel. 1st rd pick for each or they stay on the list, imo.

Agree. I'd keep Kreuz unless pick 2 was guaranteed.

I would take anything under pick 10 for Kruezer
I love the bloke but he spends a lot of time sitting on the sidelines

It's a numbers game. Any pick 25 or less just increases our chances of finding talent.

I wouldn't keep him if the contract terms didn't suit our structures. We won't be getting anything worse than end of first round.

Pick 20 for Menzel? I just don't get why people are so keen to trade Menzel. The guy is super talented, yes he's had a bad season, but that means that now is exactly the wrong time to trade him as he isn't worth what he should be. I definitely want to keep Menzel.

Mid teens for Hendo? No thanks, Geelong's first pick please (around pick 10).

A number of years ago draft picks were generally not valued highly enough in the competition. Now I reckon it's swung too far the other way and people are overvaluing draft picks. Obviously we are in a situation where we need draft picks but let's not let talented players go for less than their worth.

Not a talent equalling Kreuzer. I am fully supportive of moving him given the current circumstance, but that doesn't mean I'm not very disappointed at our midfield (team) missing out on his unique blend of effort, skill and smarts in the ruck position. It's not a decision to be made lightly. Pick 2 or retain.

Haha Healy and Lloyd on 3aw open the show calling foul on Carlton getting pick 2 for Kreuzer... want the rules changed for poor Brisbane.

Change the rules and potentially impact Brisbane with Leuy compensation. #clever

I feel sorry for Brisbane; if Kreuzer goes and we get pick 2, trade it for Brisbane's pick 3 (and something else of value) and draft Charlie Curnow. He may turn out the better player, anyway.

And this is everything which is wrong with the afl.

Only an imbecile would have failed to consider this circumstance when the rule was brought in.

And now the scenario has come to pass, we need a rule change.

Joke doesn't begin to describe the amateurism of this competition and the coverage of it.

Don't say that now, say it after the trade period.

Poor Brisbane? The same poor Brisbane that knocked off us twice this year?
So, it is okay for the bottom club to lose its good players as long as poor Brisbane dont get impacted?
It should be poor Carlton, how many more players have to leave our club?
Why does everyone hate us so much?

Scoop says AFL extremely concerned about giving Carlton pick 2. Says they're looking hard at it.
Says pies offer is higher than $500k/year
Says plowman and Phillips from GWS are SOS targets.

Poor Brisbane my a#$.
If we get pick #2 for Kreuzer they will probably get pick #4 for Leunberger as well.

The AFL will want to give Brisbane pick #4 for Leunberger and are probably looking for an excuse to do so.

I didn't hear that Knob Healy complaining when Melbourne got pick 3 for Frawley. He's been crapping on about this since we lost to Brisbane. Jerk.
