What is the bet we dont get pick 2 for Kruezer? The AFL will shaft us again and we will lose a much loved player for a pick in the 20's.
I hope SOS knows what he is doing because this has the potential to blow up in our faces.

Why is the AFL concerned? We are the worst club in the AFL right now and have been for a long time. Yet they don't hesitate to help other teams. Just don't get it.

It's not our decision if Kreuzer leaves. We offered a contract, he takes one better. I'm with the Club on this, we give players what we believe they are worth, not overs, particularly someone who is high risk.

Threaten to go to court or similar

Sick of this club being pushed around by the AFL and other parasite clubs

Surely even the AFL are aware of the concept of precedence

Frawley = Kruezer, fact!

Seriously, we are not offloading him. It is Kreuzer's decision to accept a contract "another" club has offered him or accept the one "we" offered him.

Kreuzer holds the power, nobody else.

one thing is for sure , if that happens we won't take it lying down quietly for a change

there is no justification at all for not receiving pick 2 (based on rumoured contract offers and precedence)

Quote:
...It's believed the Blues have offered Kreuzer between $400,000 and $450,000 a season, with possible incentives. Industry figures believe this is a fair offer for a man who has a history of foot problems and has played at least 20 matches in a season only once since 2009.
There was speculation on Monday the Blues had withdrawn their contract offer but that was not the case. The Blues have said they want Kreuzer to remain but understand it's his prerogative to listen to offers as a free agent...

...List manager Steve Silvagni is expected to officially ask the AFL for an indication of what the Blues could receive. However, in line with previous free agent moves, the Blues could receive pick No.2 pick as compensation, meaning they would have the coveted top two picks in the national draft....

Which came first, chicken or egg?

Is Kreuzer being forced to look elsewhere because we're offering him a contract we know he won't accept?

Yeah.

Hang on, do we have any free agents we can profit from next year?

Yep. Solicitors. It's the way to get what you want. Threaten the whole system if they want to change the rules to suit. @#$%&! em.

The Age article answers the question. It's purely an excessive contract that Kreuzer needs to either take or stay with us.

This is all supposition on my part, but I've seen how the Afl works over the years.

Ask yourself if you reckon Greg Swann is an idiot. Not whether you like him, but whether you reckon he's an idiot. Then ask yourself what on earth Brisbane was doing winning on Saturday. There's no way on this earth they would have won if they hadn't been guaranteed a priority pick. They'd have just done themselves out of both Weitering and Schache.

I don't know what excuse the afl will use, but they'll come up with something that gives us picks 1 and 3 and the Lions 2 and 4. The lions have no doubt figured we wanted weitering and they wanted schache, so nothing lost there. I'm not sure other than Francis who is after that, but I guess the Lions have figured out they'll get who they want at four as well.

The choice isn't keeping Kreuzer or pick 20.

It's Kreuzer on 700k for 4 years or not (with pick 20 thrown in). I'd like to keep Kreuzer, but not on those terms.

I have been saving some rotten fruit to throw at my telly since the last "discussion" between Healy and that tossbag Brown on that show. Hell, I'm not even going to watch it, but I'll throw it at the TV at 8:30 in the true spirit of "On The Couch", i.e. being a self righteous, uninformed arse.
