Perhaps the CEO could make pre-emptive comment about Frawley and Melbourne and Brisbane. Something subtle. An interview with Dermott or Caro would be OK, nothing specifically related to Carlton but specifically related to Melburne getting 2 and then Frawley as their next pick. And about Brisbane'slast ten years and outr, as far as games and flags won and lost and our financial situation. A comparison, if you like to make it hard for the AFL to than change the rules to suit themselves and to give Brisbane a PP and not us.

The concept of band one was designed exactly for this reason. You get your low draft pick for being a shit club and then if someone gets a good player (as determined by the contract offer and nothing else) from you you get the possibility of getting a great player in return. Melbourne got 2 and 3 because they were shit, they got their draft pick and they lost a good player. They system worked for them and the same system will work for us.

If K. goes, we will get #1 for being a shit club and we will get #2 to replace a good payer. All the commentaries in the world won't change that.

What they are really worried about, (Healy etc) is watching us get 1 and 2, THEN getting 10 for Hendo, 12 for Yarran, 21 for Bell.

If brisbane somehow get a PP, then the blues would have to get a PP as well - then taking into account FA compo for kreuzer, it could mean....

pick 1 - blues (PP)
pick 2 - lions (PP)
pick 3 - blues pick 1
pick 4 - blues FA compo
pick 5 - lions pick 1
pick 6 - GCS
