Time to can this draft and just have a salary cap.
NRL works like that and the competition is much closer.
Last week any one of 7 clubs could have finished with spoon.
First week of the finals and all anyone is talking about is who will get what pick.
They should be talking about the footy

Lets not jump the gun. Lot of water to go under the bridge yet. No point the competition having the likes of us and even the cheats languishing near the bottom for too long. Along with Collingwood and Richmond we are the crowd pullers. Brisbane are really a waste of time. @#$%&! them off and get the Suns up a firing.

I'm over all the here say, as long as we have pick one for Jacob then all the other pieces will fall into place. I do not believe we will have pick 2 so I hope we keep Special K , K with a fit Murphey, Gibbs , Cripps and Thomas ( I still think he can play ) is not a bad start.

Going to watch the finals hope the Hawks lose and let SOS and Co do their work

No need to stress it is ALL good

FMD !!!

If the AFL give Brisbane a priority pick for Leuey they have to give us one for Kreuzer.
This is what is working in our favour - in normal circumstances you'd think it would be highly unlikely we'd get band 1 for Kreuzer.

On what basis? Brisbane don't trigger any clause for a priority pick and how is it relevant to a free agent?

It isnt relevant at all. A priority pick is a pick given outside the first round.

They still have no entitlement to a priority pick. I can't even start the case they would present to the AfL. Well maybe I could, but it would involve a Monica Lewinksi moment.

Exactly, a priority pick is an extra pick given by the AFL to help a club. A compo pick is given when a club loses a player to free agency. They are different.

This will be a big test for them.

Frankly I don't see MLG as much of a table thumper and Trigg owes his livelihood to the AFL.

We'd better get in on the act of enticing Leuy to Carlton.... You know for Tom Bell, just to see what the asking price is!!

I'm hoping we pursue every angle to understand AFL values.
The Luey idea makes sense, and probably an obvious start to sniff out.

We should also pursue priority pick plus pick 2 and lobbying for those concessions.
And whilst they at it pay our debt...they played a role in that.

We can turn our fortunes if MLG and Trigg play their cards well with afl.
Get 6 class players new our list this and again next year, replacing average players/ list cloggers.
Replace Judd with another marquee player.
Return of Gibbs Thomas Byrne Sheehan Docherty To 22.
I can see how we can be back in the finals and top 4 in 66 games.

So was Caro talking about a Priority pick or a comp pick? She would have no idea if it's the comp pick given it is so 'complicated' to calculate, she doesn't strike me as a math genius.

But a Priority pick would be a disaster as it might mean we lose Weitering

Seriously though Lions beat us twice this year and finished above us so it's hard to argue they deserve a special pick and we don't . Henderson and Yarran want to get out of Carlton so it's not like Bris are the only club losing players .

MLG and Trigg need to grow a pair ASAP

I think question has to be asked is what is the criteria for a priority pick.

Obviously there is an intricate mathematical formula for a compo pick. Probably based on Duckworth/Lewis system.

Melbourne asked for one last year and were knocked back. Got a compo for Frawley.

You cannot give a club a priority pick because their administration, board, coach or whatever are incompetent and can't retain players. We would of got one if that was the case.
