So Cachia is good to play, with Patty Mac out for 2 months on LTI list with a bad foot. Sadly , I reckon that's the end of Patty .

So they means that Cachia can be retained on the senior list and the club can promote Bell as the one rookie that all clubs can promote mid season.
Just hoping this is not blow out, going to the game with no expectations so wont be disappointed with a loss.
Will be interested to see if Yarran plays, if he does he has a bit to prove after the media has been on his back this week.

Thought mid year promotions expired last year, and we were able to elevate Curnow on the basis we had less than 40 on the main list?

For me, one of the great failures of last year was the baffling lack of understanding by our players/coaching staff about why we lost this last year. I remember becoming more infuriated by the day hearing people at the club saying "I don't know what happened".

This is what happened, as it does every time we play Hawthorn:
- They double-team Judd, knowing he'll get no support (Jordan Lewis in particular will puff out his chest with no-one showing the balls to get in his face)
- They push our guys around, knowing they won't be pushed back (or that they will get a free kick because our "tough guy tactics" are usually clumsy and misdirected), and that our players will begin to hear footsteps everywhere they go
- They run in at full speed to get the hard-ball, knowing that their opposition will come out flat-footed and hesitant (particularly after being physically intimidated)
- They zone off in defence, waiting for the inevitable bomb to no-one, which they then pick off or gather the crumbs, and then rebound with run and superior kicking efficiency to an open forward line, resulting in Hendo/Jamo getting destroyed by Buddy
- They taper off in the second half, the game all but over, letting us get a few late ones (and in some cases, us even getting to under 3 goals down) - Although sometimes they just continue to beat the shit out of us

If nuffies like me can see this, why the @#$%&! can't the players and coaching staff!?! ARGH!!!

I can only hope that after all the beatings, that we have learned enough to know what to expect and have figured out a way to counteract it. But this team have proven to be very slow learners.

depressingly true DS.
How about if we put it on the banner, so at least there's a chance someone might see it?

If I'm earning an easy six figures, and have hundreds of nuffy backslappers telling me how great I am, with little chance of someone better coming along in the near future and taking my spot, why would I waste my time being introspective?

Assuming the same team for the sake of argument ...

Waite/Casboult the traditional two tall forwards. However when Casboult goes to the ruck, Kruezer doesn't go forward, but
goes to defence to clog things up there. We then change the forward line strategy. The runners move up a little and we focus
on getting them "out the back" rather than a "kick it to the goal square" approach.

Don't know if that would work, but I'd like at least two obvious foward line plans that we can swap around if things aren't
happening. The few times we have obviously tried things it's seemed like we were locked into the strategy for the whole
game. Hopefully Mick's working on them being able to "flip a switch".

If we use the Bomb to forward method that we seem to be employing this year ... we will get slaughtered.

I like this idea, and to extend it, when Casboult is rucking, I would send Kreuzer back and Hendo to CHF as one of the change-ups

O'Keeffe learned a lot that day. He noted how hard Goddard ran and worked, and how much help he received from his St Kilda teammates, who "smashed" into the rookie Blue at every opportunity.

A pity it takes another club to illustrate that

If he can still touch his toes I say we should give him another go.

Crikey....what a novel idea  In fact the Catters have been doing this for years. Who'd have thought :screwy: And what about the corridor ? Na, too radical.

Pfffft!

TC's want us to trade Kreuzer and Robinson who crash into players.
