Honestly can anyone think of one instance when the AFL gave us a break.
Losing draft picks
Waite no compensation. He was worth a 3rd rounder
I get they can't let Brisbane fail but we gotta get something decent for Krooz
Either pick 3 this year or a pick after our first round next year.
Pick 19 demonstrates the anti Carlton sentiment that riddles the AFL

I will start by saying I wanted Kruezer to stay but I am now pissed!
1. Make sure the new contract is above and beyond the band 1 pick. Clubs know what that is, don't believe the bullshit. Precedence have been shown.
2. Make sure we get legal advise and are ready to put draft day in jepordy, if we don't get the relevant pick after our pick! Even if it's the day or night before the draft!!!
3. Make sure the AFL are aware of the situation and wait.....

I would sit out the season. Refuse to draft players. Get Dank and the gear into the club. Take them to court.....whatever it took to ruin 2016.

Imagine the spectacle if we just passed on pick one on their big day.

You've been around long enough to know they just can't do that, especially when it comes to us. Bloody disgraceful organisation and lead by a current ex player of ours as well. F$&@ me.

Blues need to make it clear to the monkeys at LaLaLand that we are as sheet at Bris and Kreuz is the same proposition as Luey, simple as that.

Last time I checked they have a number of nice key position players developing in this side. Where are ours?

No don't buy this.

I'm completely serious. It's not about Brisbane, it's about us.

If the AFL want Brisbane to get one of the first two effective picks then it will happen, because ensuring the ongoing success of expansion markets will be in Gillion's KPIs and millions of $$ in bonus' will be attached to it somewhere. But there's two ways it can go down.

1. They can use Colonel Sanders' secret recipe to screw us on the Kreuzer compensation pick while the media and every other club and its fans cheers them on; or

2. They can give Brisbane a pick ahead of us, and not screw us on the Kreuzer compensation pick.

Option two leaves us with two picks in the top 3, and a reasonable case to ask for further compensation. It's a no brainer.

We haven't done anything wrong here. We beat Melbourne in good faith when we played them. And we are hardly responsible for Brisbane's stupidity, not matter how admirable it was. There's no reason for the AFL to be vindictive towards us here, but we all know they're more than capable of it if we drive them to it.

So gifting them Schache is going to solve all their problems is it?
No offence, but get real.

Again, I'm not particularly interested in Brisbane and what they end up with. I'm interested in not ending up with just pick 1 and 19 if there are better options on the table.

Objectively, 2, 3 & 19 considerably better than any of 1 & 19, 1 & 2, and 1 & 3, so that is what we should be trying to engineer.

For all we know, our recruiters don't even rate Schache.

First they screw us with the salary cap saga, which many believe our punishment was above and beyond the crime.

So we go by the rules, fair and square, and they screw us anyway?

Why can't we as a club get organised and MARCH on AFL house?

The media would lap it up, and considering ALL the scandals the AFL has been through recently, the LAST thing they would want is a very publicised march by disgruntled supporters, upset their club is being treated unfairly by the AFL.

Why can't we as a club, as supporters, get something like this organised?

Number 1 picks are few and far between, the very future of our club rest upon our ability to get the best outcome possible.

If we continue to roll over and say nothing, the AFL will continue to bully us.

If a date was set, I'd be there 110%

Yep our recruiters may not rate him, but the AFL and Bris are desperate for him to get there.
Hence the current situation we are in.

Yeah, and watch them (Brisbane) take the best junior (by a good margin) ahead of us, they aren't that stupid and we should't be that stupid. :banghead:

Free agency compo a nuisance and a nonsense. Has always muddied draft. Now ready to haunt AFL. If being fair Carl has to get 2 for Kreuzer.
Lions can moan all they like. Rules are rules and somehow they found a way to finish second last, which was a list manager's nightmare ...
