This is set to be the deal:

Hawthorn gives 9, 31, 42 (from Dees/Jiath) and 43 to Carlton.

Carlton gives 10 and 22 to Hawthorn.

May help with with Merrett, points for the Blues & maybe Buku Khamis.

Phew, I can back down off the ledge now.
That other trade was diabolical.
This alone should easily lock in Dean, Ison and Khamis.

Interesting…

Austin on Florent:
“That has been a consistent theme with all four recruits we have brought in this trade period, a genuine excitement to come and be part of what our Club is building into 2026 and beyond.”

Pointed?

I think this unlocks Charlie and Humphrey deal now.

Charlie to Swans for Pick #11, future 1st and Hayward.

Pick #9 and Pick #11 for Humphrey, Pick # 24 and Pick #28

There's always a gem to be got, or a need filled in MSD.
There's always a DFA or surprise non selection after the Draft.

I have a feeling Fogarty and Binns contracts will be the cheapest to dispose if we are to create an SSP and MSD spot.
May use HOKs injury to create an MSD pick.

I'm guessing Acres and Lij contracts are more expensive to pay out, and Acres may be retained if there's no interest.

Gov's spot is looking precarious as we wait to hear the trade for Khamis

This isn't the Charlie thread

I'll take that.

With SOS he takes all his tears and sense of entitlement with him too.

Definitely. I'm convinced that the issues with Charlie, TDK, JSOS are a large part of why 2025 derailed so badly. Voss himself spoke about the lack of unity. That was our biggest problem

We won't be keeping that pick.

Makes a lot of sense. Haven't done the numbers, but surely with picks 7 and 8 going out, GC are going to need some picks coming back in to get their academy kids. Expected to have 2, 4 and another around 20

WOW

Did you mention the 21 yo beast....H, H, H, Bailey for our picks 9 and 11?

Based on that, he's worth something similar to the 29yo Charlie: pick 11, F1 (guess pick 15) and Hayward.

I'll take it !!!

Its all about the SUM of parts Charlie gets us.

If Hawks can’t get the deal for Merrett done, will they turn their attention/picks towards the Suns for Humphrey?

I knew we should have tanked this year.

We could have got a higher pick back from. Hawthorn.

Uwland, Patterson, Coulson, Murray, Addinsall… can’t remember the other one. Might’ve dreamed him up.

Yeah, least year we massively overpaid

On this, to get Hawthorn's first rounder in 2024 (Pick 14) we gave up our future first and second (Picks 9 and 31).

We then went and gave Pick 12 and 14 to West Coast to get Pick 3 and take Jagga, with pick 73 and Owies also going out for Picks 63 and 68 for some negligible points for the Campo twins.

So we effectively gave up Pick 12 (2024), Pick 9 (2025) and Pick 31 (2025) to get Jagga.

Time will tell, but that's a hell of a price to pay for an untried 18 year old.
