2nd rounder. If that is true, I'm reading between the lines that Carlisle is coming and we are looking at Schache if we get pick 2 compensation.

It will be ok if he does.

Would be someone to fill in in a couple of positions we are short of players for but overall I think we can live without him if we get a decent trade.

Not every negotiation has to be out in the open with emotional ranting. Pissing the AFL off is not going to help us. I would expect a good President to be working with political nouse behind the scenes to ensure we get the best deal, while at the same time achieving the AFL's goals. The two are not mutually exclusive.

I agree. I'm somewhat sceptical we have that good President but would love to be proven wrong.

Not sold on the prez either .
was not enamoured with him snoozing at a game overweight belly with stretched shirt buttons and all..
Not a great look. Which who cares if he is effective...
But is he??

Apart from that though have to agree with em and grro..
Bit early for getting too worked up..
ev3n if ranting is quite fun.

Our Key Position stocks are threadbare.

But if other teams are getting a woody for Casboult, then SOS might be interested.

Could be a bit like John Butcher two years ago when everyone had the hots for him, but at least Levi can kick for goal.

Kicking for goal Casboult >>>>>>>>>>>> Butcher.

If you had said that 9 months ago you'd be laughed out of town.
Let's hope Rocca keeps his job.

The whole compensation system is a mess. Tying it directly to the finishing position in a comp with 18 teams distorts the value of the compensation so much that James Frawley gets pick 3 and Buddy Franklin gets pick 19. And we find ourselves in this position where quite a few Carlton supporters almost hope that Kreuzer walks. That's a shocking look really. If there had have been a mid first round option (say after the bottom 10 have had their pick and before the finalists have theirs) I think this could have been avoided. So Frawley and Buddy would have both been around pick 11/12 (as would Kreuzer) and the whole thing would IMO be more fair. As it is the AFL have dug themselves a large hole where they can't deny us pick 2 if Kreuzer is offered enough money elsewhere. Being honest that is a good to great deal for us but now a few weeks after watching him dominate in one of our few wins for the year, I find myself confused as to whether I want him at my club next year or not. That's not his fault and it's not the club's fault.

Hahaha, if our prez came out with the nonsensical rubbish the Bris prez came out with id be convinced we were being led by a donkey.

You need to get a grip, there's more than one way to skin a cat!!!

A voice on behalf of the club would be nice. Even if it were just to say "get a grip" themselves.

We are only getting uptight because we are craving leadership.

The media will push this to breaking point and Kreuzer will end up mentally wrecked.
For his sake, this has to be put aside for a few weeks.

Think we should hang on to Casboult. The only thing I would consider would be a top 25 pick. We've done all the hard yards with him, finally he's kicking at afl standard. Doesn't seem to. Ale sense moving him on after we've put in the yards developing him.

I wish the club would come out and squash some of these rumours. Or confirm some.
Give us something to hang on to..
Casboult
Kreuzer
Menzel
Henderson (well we know it's happening)
Yarran
Bell
Though in saying that. I'm sure that SOS and Bolts are locked away working on all this... just give us something... anything...
Geeez this is going to be a long 5 weeks.

agreed. must keep cas to have anything resembling a forward structure. if we trade him, SOS must have the grand plan of us tanking 2 seasons to turnover the list similar to what an expansion team would.

sos is a twit, if that's the case.

If we trade Casboult we're tanking? It really is the silly season.

Hmmm do we try for Harley Bennell for pick 10 (Henderson pick - if we get it) ? It would be a very nice swap out if we lose Yarran (talent wise) attitude seems about he same.
You would think Bennells currency isn't what it was before the last indiscretion.

playing an entire season without a notable forward or any forward structure.

that's tanking.

I reckon should have a RHG at Jono Patton. (Pick 2 or 3 for their pick (10?)
There's been talk about Josh Walker for Henderson. Only if he's steak knives.
Don't want Carlisle. Not a fan of a bloke mouthing off to opponents about how @#$% his club is.
Greg Denham was saying Casboult to Port for Lobbe. Wouldn't be happy with that.
Tom bell for Zac Smith (win/win)
If we can get one of the McKays with a pick around 10-15 (Henderson/Yarran) they look good. Maybe both. Dan has been compared to Jake Carlisle.
I also like the look of Harley Balic.

The Adv we have is that Bell, Menzell, Casboult, Yarran are all contracted so will only go if good deals done

My 2 cents

Agreed, but say top 20.

I can honestly see the appeal with getting Carlisle but it's a huge risk with the whole WADA thing. I trust the club understands this and doesn't make getting Carlisle the linch pin in other list management decisions.
