Thanks. Left or given the sack? I would have thought Clinton Brown would be under more pressure with the appalling membership numbers.

They do, and they clearly like what they see.

Sent Trigg an email this morning with some feedback. Great to see the fulfillment pack turn up before round 3 for the first time I can remember. Disappointing what happened with member pin/lack of recognition of 20 years membership. Trigg's response was decent enough, but CC'd in Clinton Bown for some reason, who decided to throw his 2c in.

Thanks Rhino – further to Steven’s email – FYI we have a round table session next Wednesday night with our Member Council reps to solely discuss Member Recognition.

A top priority for us to improve. There will be some initiatives out of that workshop that we will announce this year – and certainly planning for 2016 and beyond.

regards

Wow.

If you need an example of what's wrong with your inability to grasp the concept of member recognition, please feel free to re-read your rude and dismissive response again. They fired Anthony Barham but kept you?

"We'll be announcing some initiatives from a meeting we haven't actually had yet for people other than yourself maybe next year."

I'm done. After 20 years, I can safely say I have no interest in putting another cent into what is a bad business that expects my money, rather than does anything to earn it.

Don't bother with a response.

I emailed Clinton in response to the email for call center volunteers:

Quote:
Hi Clinton,

The feedback I have heard about this is that the club must be broke to ask for volunteers and that this is not the type of engagement they are looking for. What I hear is people not renewing because their seats have been “re-classified” and increased a lot in price.

Regards
Michael

The response:

Quote:
Thanks Michael

We have over 50 people who have already volunteered their time and we are genuinely trying to reconnect.

I am open to criticism, but there are good people, trying to turn this Club around – and some tough decisions have to be taken along the way.

Our membership pricing was all over the place - and it’s taken me 4 years to put it right. Unfortunately that has meant some people feel they are being ask much more for the same seat – when infact they have been grossly underpaying the market value for that seat. All that said – I appreciate many of those seats were bought when the Club was on its knees.

As of today over 85% of members in the Captains Club Premium category have renewed. We also have a waitlist of members who want to move into those seats – because they do see the value in the seats.

I thought an explanation was in order – I am not defending my decision.

Hope to see you at the footy in 2015.

Kind regards

Seems pretty defensive for someone not defending their decision....

I met him a couple of years ago, and when I said to him that I had some ideas regarding CRM and membership research (based on 30 years in Marketing) which I would be happy to share, I was told that he knew everything there is to know in these areas (and he had been at the Hawks when they grew) - but he would buy me a coffee if he saw me at training. Lovely man.

Not sure if posted already

Carlton has appointed former Momentum Energy boss Nigel Clark as chief commercial officer, as the club continue to restructure their administration under new president Mark LoGiudice and chief executive Steven Trigg.

I like this, clearly the Guice is doing things his way and not beholden to the factions that Sticks fawned over and they to him.

Nothing else can be read out of Sticks response

:S

Just sick of Clinton Bown mostly. Smug, overbearing, patronising, unjustifiably arrogant with absolutely no runs on the board to warrant it whatsoever. Not hard to see why those above him are trying to ship him off to the first A-League or NBL club that listens.

Sticks is probably trying to save face as there are so many changes in motion which highlight what deficiencies Trigg walked into...
