Given the joy and the warmth Carlton have given my heart over the last 37 years Ill let my head rule for 2005

wow, in one post youve said exactly what i have tried and failed to say on numerous occasions....well done

Big statement coming--
for those who are hoping for us to lose to our arch rival of over 100 years, a team we have played over 200 times and have fought some classic battles with, a team of the old silvertails v the working class, of 16 Premierships v 14, of Jezza, Nichols, Bradley Silvagni v Daicos, Richards, McKenna and Buckley. For those of you who are putting an untried/ unheard of kid (and moving us just one place higher in the draft order) over 100 plus years of tradition and fierce rivalry is committing footballing treason. They do not deserve to be classed as supporters of the Carlton football club.
I can nod my head at the reasoning (but never entirely comprehend) behind losing to newcomers like Port and Freo, but to Collingwood?? And merely to AVOID finishing last?? The wooden spoon? Humiliation? Another dent in this clubs pristine image?

Yes you can argue the short term pain v long term gain line, or pragmatics over heart and of logic over feelings, but in my 18 years of following this footy club Ive learnt to hate Collingwood and Essendon* with a passion.
No system is going to make me think twice about this.

How is it a big statement when it has been said before?

You haven't added anything, Josh.
More or less repeated what Brad and Deano have labelled myself, Shagger and others who follow our line of thinking.

I was wondering the same thing  Certainly a healthy ego to think that if you say it yourself it somehow makes it big

if that is what you believe then you have no right to support the club when all of this pays off....
when our crop of talent from this year is winning us games you have absolutely no right to be a carlton supporter....

Get a grip on yourself Shag!

Never heard so much crap in my life. Think about what you are saying before you start writing this sort of rubbish.

Yeah, one person is consistently not adding a great deal of quality and frustrating a high percentage of users of this site.

I will.

Josh, what part of this did you not understand?

Shag...all we want is for you to construct your argument without resorting to cheap shots...and that goes the same for those who have the opposite argument to you.

It's really not that hard...and if the temptation is too great...resist it! Turn the other cheek.

And that is the difference. Choosing words carefully and not getting sucked into a personal insult discussion, regardless of how much ammunition you are presented with.

Sooner or later you're going to have to accept responsibility for what you post and accept that people may disagree with what you say and how you say it. When people take you to task either accept it or defend yourself with substance not this "everyone is against" me rubbish.

I don't believe that is the case. I think you're confusing people's objections to your views as "ganging" up on you when really all they are doing is offering their alternate opinion. Which is exactly what you are saying people should be allowed to do.

And I'll pretend I didn't read your evaluation of this site.
