So who didn't play? Kouta, French, Whitnall, Saddington?

While I don't rate him Deluca proabably would've been in the side if fit, Kennedy too.

Hey guys,
Thanks for the updates during the game.

Just to let you know, we were without a few more than 5 of our players (Chris Judd, Dean Cox, Ben Cousins, David Wirrpanda, Chad Fletcher, Daniel Kerr, Andrew Embley, Tyson Stenglein, Daniel Chick, Darren Glass, Ashley Hansen, Michael Gardiner and Ashley Sampi), but this isn't an excuse :)

Good luck during the season and I look forward to hopefully revenge when you visit Subiaco!!

Yep i agree except Michael Gardiner, he is washed up like Matthew Allan was for Carlton towards the end,he will be cut by years end,i gurantee it.

Mjonc,

those that didn't play were the ones you mentioned (Kouta, French, Saddington, and Whitnall). Others were Sporn (think they said an injury - but don't quote me on it), and Setanta.
Russell definitely played (wasn't reported to have done much), but I don't think Jackson did. Backline sounded pretty much as though we would want it to line up, with Livo (Fb), T-Bird (CHB), then Teague and Walker (HBF), and support from Scotland and McGrath. Carrots came on to assist at various stages. On-ball sounded very much like a combination of Stevens and Houla with support from Bentick and Simpson.

Yeah i probably shouldn't have included Gardiner on that list (for the same reasons i didn't include a guy like Brad Smith who is also injured).

Even without those guys though, its probably 7 of our best 8 midfielders out (only one playing was Braun) and a few good defensive players - but we pride ourselves on depth and so I was still hoping to win, but ya get that sometimes.

Did they pull out?

Stenglein was there at least :P

EDIT: err and Chick - his name just sort of fades to the background, kind of like his career.

Yes. Only 25 travelled (those two stayed home and trained with the other guys in Perth today)and Perth radio even said we had less players on the bench during the game. I wasn't sure who the others that missed were, rumour is Selwood?

I think you are underestimating his impact. He was very good deep in defence for us last year and kicked 3 goals to get us into the Grand Final, although admittedly he didnt have his best day (like quite a few of them).

If I were to cast over your best 22 he would be a weakspot, I'm not saying we're any better but he has certainly faded to the background over at WC.
