Maybe Richo could have a word when Fev arrives at Punt Rd & advise him where he got his public speaking lessons & promptly arrange a few sessions for our good friend.

TT my good friend you know i know what you mean..
Maybe you'll embrace Fev IF he arrives at Punt Road... Do you want him and what would you give up .... In all seriousness .... IF being the big thing ???

Look, Fevola is often maligned by alot of supporters, his own & opposition. Similar to Richo (more so in the past). The reason is every one knows that these guys are real talents. What they produce at there best comes to be expected all the time, which is not totally realistic.
Fev has had a few tantrums this year, which I personally thought were overplayed by the media, but with the current media & the way things are portrayed is not great for a club with sponsors & fickle supporters. All in all, the guy is talented.
What I be prepared to trade for Fev? I don't know. Is he leaving cos he is not wanted, is it because he see a better future outside of CFC. Does he want to play at the RFC or does he just want to leave CFC.
Well hard to say, I think it would depend on how much Carlton would be willing to subsidise his contract. If they were willing to pay 50% then a first round pick would be the go, but RFC would only trade that if they could acquire a second first round pick via trades. It is not a straight forward trade when there is a huge 3 year contract involved.

Fair point although i don't agree with the 50% you have included. The deal that you guys got last year with Ottens would be more to my liking if indeed anything does happen. Though IMO unlikely. If we are talking first rounder then yes but one first round draft pick no matter what number it is might not be enough ?? A First round pick and a sweetener might get the done. The sweetener that you pay his full contract so we are free of him altogether, or a young lad like Pattison ... Then maybe i would would be accepting of a trade.

So for me:
Fev - Richmond - Carlton Pays portion of Contract- Not 50%- 20% Tops
Richmond - First Rounder Carlton plus Pattison

Result Richmond Fev at a discounted rate Great value for Money
No Pattison save more money..

Carlton - Ist Ronder Plus Pattison plus excess dollars to cover Fevs discounted contract at Richmond.

I don't know i just think lets keep Fev and if we are going to trade him lets do it next year, in a deeper draft... Who know mate who knows ?? :-D :-D

Fevs contract is around 35ok included in the salary cap.. the otyher 1oo is promotional....

Cant see a club taking him on 'promotional ' cant see Fev leaving for 350k....

He isnt going anywhere anyway..... it woul;d have to be too good to refuse....

Synbad,
what would you call too good to refuse?

Everyone talks of the Barry Hall for pick 13 (effectively Dal Santo) and salivate. For mine although St Kilda have done well over Dal Santo, i would still take Hall any day ... and by a mile. Hall will win more games off his own boot than Dal Santo ever will.
I see Fevola in the same boat - a match winner. One gun midfielder is not enough (unless it's Judd) and neither is one high draft pick. I'd want more ...
Maybe i over value him, but he is a genuine key position player who kicks 50 a year and although we know his weaknesses, he still has a huge upside.
...Let him get married (and hopefully mature), give him the chance to show some leadership around the club, and then reassess in 12months i say.

There is a small piece in todays MX (free PM Melbourne commuter rag), with the headline, 'True Blue - Whitnall Stays'.

"Carlton's Lance Whitnall could sign to stay with the Blues as early as today. Whitnall's manager was meeting Carlton officials today and the Blues forward was confident a resolution was close."

Make of it what you will.

And he could have signed a couple of months ago as well. Probably doesn't mean very much.

If we have learnt anything over the past three years you would hope it would've been to make the 100K dependant on Fev actually belonging to the club regardless of whether he quits or is traded.

Surely we wouldn't make it un-conditional.....would we?

Its probably about him and Kouta being Carltons nominations by AFLPA most valuable player

... and just to add to the ambiguity, it also mentions that Luke Hodge is confident that Crawford and Hay will stay at Hawthorn.

It's getting interesting now...With Whitnall "supposedly" close to signing, does that mean the end of Fev or does it mean that the club will be keeping both...Doesn't look/sound like he wants to leave....He also referred to Murphy as 'a jet' and like Ben Cousins...Maybe Fev should be our recruiting manager

Fevola and Whitnall Must both Stay.....Thier work together in the Wizard cup wasnt just by accident..... those two together with the support of fisher and Waite can make Calrton by far the best forward line...

Fevola and whitnall rarely played together last year, and there was no point in playing them either... We simply did not have a midfield that was capable of delivering the ball to them... nor did we have a creditable defence which meant Lance had to play down there...

I will Write to the Club and plea to the Board to keep both of them on....

We have not SEEN what lance and Fev can do together.. they are a deadly pair.....When we get some Quality midfielders, i am sure they can turn it all around.....

I understand the frustration of all of us towards fevola's attitude towards football, butt I say Give him one more year and see what happens....

he had a filthy year, yet he still kicked 49 goals with is eyes closed.... with a decent team, he will kick 100+ easily......We just cant let go of him now.... Denis has to be more patient....

Why would we sign him up before trade week?

If we have re-signed Lance, knowing that we could get something valuable for him at trade week, then we deserve to be a basket case

Well it had better be the ace of spades cause if we've signed lance before we're sure we can offload Fev and end up stuck with both of them, then we deserve all the misery we're going to get.
