If I were to cast over your best 22 he would be a weakspot, I'm not saying we're any better but he has certainly faded to the background over at WC.

The fact that he doesn't play in the midfield anymore doesn't mean he isn't an important player in our side.

Anyway, I'll leave you guys to it.

Hey true Blues

bill, budzy, molly, mjonic and the blue world, thanks for an amzing world first.

That was a great ride. A unique experience for all. People will hear about this site and this show and it will go down in media history as one of the mega media milestones.

That name LIVO touched a nerve. If only he ....plays to his potential.

He was chosen at draft #4 and moulded to take over the KP full back from his master and legend footballer SOS.

It just heartens me, just as it did at this stage last year, that he was DOMINATING his position. We stregthened the spine with a strong bodied defender, who can also mark and run, and shirks no issue.

My summation from the call ; the players read well:

FB Livo
CHB Thornton
HB Lappin Walker Scotland Teague
RUCK McLaren Bryan
MID Stevens Bentick Simpson Carrazzo Murphy (1st 1/2) Blackwell
HF Fisher
CHF Waite
FF Fevola

Chambers (Chandler run & shot thru middle)
Betts (mentioned)
Davies mentioned
Bower quiet (did take a screamer)

It starts to look good when Livo is strong at FB. Thornton can play across HB or CHB, HB line with Walker & Lappin stopping forward runs and running through the lines, McLaren providing drive around the ground as a mobile Ruckman, Stevens in the centre, with the onball brigade Bentick, Simpson, Carazzo and Murphy who are a good mix of in and under, defensive and attacking runners, Waite and Fisher as dual running marking CHB and a strong leading FF Fevola on song. Bryan can ruck around the ground or play forward.....That's what we've got as a sound foundation of the future......sounds good.

Plus throw in

French .............. Judd
Kouta ................Embley
Whitnall ............... Cousins
Setanta ................ Kerr
DeLuca .................. Chick
Saddington Fletcher
McGrath..................Wirrapunda
Bannister .................Cox
Hartlett ...................Glass
Prendergast.............Hansen
Russell ....................Sampi

We must have been bloody competitive, with all those players out....and how are we going to fit them in.

What a night.

THE EMPIRE WILL STRIKE BACK!!

La ta ta ta ta, La ta ta ta ta, La ta ta ta ...

Hey guys,
Thanks for the updates during the game.

Just to let you know, we were without a few more than 5 of our players (Ben Cousins... Michael Gardiner and Ashley Sampi), but this isn't an excuse :)

Yeah! ... well we were without Laurie Angwin, Karl Norman and Cam Croad

Your whole side is a midfield...you have no forwards or backs. And don't throw out the names Glass or Staker - HAHAHAHA!!!!!! cough *hack* cough

the Eagles window is smaller than St Kilda's - you should have won the flag last year when you had the chance. You and your theatre going chardonay drinking crowd can get F***cked.

Oh ... just curious as to whether you purchased one of the Eagles 2005 premiership shirts at subiaco oval against us in ROUND 15 LAST YEAR!!!!
Do you get to wear it much???

I saw those shirts at the Perth show at half time on GF day showbag.

The arrogance is priceless hey???

Eagle Power, thanks for dropping by dude; we are happy to have chalked up a win but not seriously planning to topple you guys in the H&A season just yet....

But you have to admit that the Eagles are OUR PRE-SEASON BITCHES!!!

Ahh, seriously, it'll be nice to have a little rebalancing in the rhetoric on this site over the next week or so, especially since our round 1 opponents just got completely humiliated!!

Nice to see the young fellas having a crack.

Maybe its enough to get Patrick Smith and Mark Robinson to F%@K OFF AND LEAVE US ALONE FOR A FEW DAYS.....

I think we've all learned a lesson today.

Playing Livo equals a win.

Thank you.

You also made outrageous comparisons of West Coast and Carlton - I did that once, albeit under more convincing circumstances :P

jimmae...

if you're referring to my list of the outs for the game, it was 1 am, I was pissed etc, I couldn't see properly...I was over excited...I was in perfect condition to go out!

I was only accounting for numbers missing from the game that would normally have taken the field, and by no means to trying to match the missing such as French with Judd. I did this as a rebuttle to Eagle Power's ommission that Carlton also had stars missing.

Anyway, they were only numbers....who is Cousins, Kerr, Embley, and Fletcher...?

Are they the guys who would have tried to stop our juggernaut of midfielders in Stevens, Bentick, Simpson, Carazzo, Murphy, Walker, Scotland and Blackwell...they would have had no chance....never heard of them...or should I say....

Always live in hope.

THE EMPIRE WILL STRIKE BACK!!

yep...just like the Dons article...."powerhouse forward Courteny Johns injured his shoulder"....so how is he a powerhouse? and the few minutes he's been on the ground he's olayed defense as much as he's played forward.

Bet you won't be describing any Blues players with these sorts of superlatives..."the unstoppable Justin Davies"?

Robbinson, you idiot!

Sounds like it was a good win.

Good to see Waite and Fevola play well. Anyone know how Livo, Chambers, Bower and Bentick played?
