I'm not a fan of Voss BUT this endorsement from GW is the first of many statements to this weak, soft and mentally fragile playing group that the free rides are over. This is the first time in my life as a Carlton supporter that we are finally backing a coach over the playing group.
Now what I can see happening is most if not all Assistant coaches being moved on and a new lot coming in and we will headhunt someone to be our tactical guru and allow Voss to move more into a man-manager role.

^ agree with deano. The response from the playing group the next few weeks should be telling.

Good decision to actually back someone for a change . I like Voss as a bloke . The bloke aint a sook . On top of that I think he is a decent Coach . Not brilliant , but pretty good . He just needs a decent injury run to show us what he's got . OK , if it don't work out we go our seperate ways .

Agree with you. We cannot simply keep sacking coaches, it hasn't worked so far.
Put in some new assistants and as you have said someone to help on match day.

I was always happy to trust in Wright. I’m pretty comfortable with this decision, assuming there will be other personnel changes in the footy department.
These days, the senior coach needs to be a good leader and man manager, first and foremost. Now we need to get a good team around him.

100% agree. GW has spoken (at least not directly). I agree, we simply have to back Voss, cull some assistants, get decent ones in AND recruit a Tactical Coach to support Vossy.

The players response from here will be interesting, but hopefully the "age of entitlement and accepting that it isn't on" is well and truly over. Perform or your future is doubtful.

If this statement from the club makes JSOS (and others leave) then so be it. We simply have to move on. It has to be onwards and upwards and the club is greater than the "individual" from here on.

This is a Coach who embarrasingly took us to a final by pure Luck only to be 60-0 Against their Opponent

This is a Coach that Most Senior players have Stopped Playing for except for the Captain because he gets to bully & control all other players and refuses to give others a go in the middle.

This is a Coach that has built a Game based on Winning the hard ball which we still do, even this year, BUT nothing else after it.

This is a Coach that Treated Matt Kenedy like a Scum, and look how Kennedy thrived at the Dogs when given an opportunity to play full time in the Middle. Did The Bont or other Senior players refuse to give Kennedy a go? BUT No, at Carlton we tell him there is no space for him in the middle because Krippa has to get Brownlow Votes for Self-Glory....

This is a Coach that begins the Season with an almost Full team, yet loses to a buttom side after being 41 points UP.....


You can make all excuses for VOSS and say he is a good Coach, injuries bla bla bla, BUT you are forgetting one Crucial Fact: Most Players have checked out already. They are not putting in the minimum effort. They are not playing for their Coach. They are not interested....For Voss to remain, it means You must move on at least 8-10 Senior players.... Its madness.


And YET Carlton Fans on Talking Carlton are all happy with the Decision, those same Fans who were Crying out for his head.....
