Pago Pago's in game coaching:
At quarter time he went straight to 1AW after Ablett had towelled him up and quietly pointed out where he had gone wrong and told him what tactics to employ. More importantly he showed his confidence in Andrew by leaving him on Ablett for the bulk of the match. Result:1AW finished with 18 touches and Ablett was taken out of the game only netting 3 kicks after quarter time. Sure he had a half dozen handballs, but this was due to the pressure Andrew applied. Walker 18 - Ablett 17.
Noticing JR drop his nut in a marking contest, dragged him and spoke to him on the blower at length. When Jordon returned he took a courageous mark in the last line of defence and then followed up with some quality possesions. He finished with 4 marks for the day from limited ground time.
Talked to JFK at 3 quarter time about his positioning and was emphasing (by the holding of his hands in front of his face and swaying his hips) that Josh takes his eyes off the pill and watches his man too much. That great mark he took where he used his strength and most importantly focused entirely on the ball, flags great days ahead for this boy.
Young Cool Hand Luke was feeling the after effects of his tough game against the Brions so spent a lot of time on the pine. He seemed to be on the blower a lot and in a few cameo roles got some quality touches.
Appeared to be very animated when talking to AB. I guess it was about his extraction from under packs. Not sure but he improved his delivery as the match went on. What this kid lacks in skill, he certainly makes up in guts.
You will note that I am only talking about the kids in this post, simply because they are the ones who are coachable and if 10% improvement can be dragged out of them, we will be a force to be reckoned with; with a injury free and better list next year.
