Hmmm. A bit cynical.

I think that for once the club has shown a bit or ticker rather than damage control.

They haven't caved-in to other clubs more fortunate positions, have kept everything in-house and only told the media what they wanted to tell them when the time was right for a change.

Finally some professionalism and flexing of some old style Carlton muscle. As opposed to bending over and taking it in the kyber from all and sundry.

Well done. I have some hope; albeit possibly false but better than we've seen for a long time.

They had to show ticker because they were in damage control.

The whole thing was poorly handled from the beginning...

Well you'd have to say the last week has been one of the most positive weeks we have had for a long time:

- standing our ground in trade week
- resigning 4 young players
- getting a great clubman back as an assistant coach
- getting this news to supporters quickly and keeping us informed

Couldn't be happier with the way the club has handled itself in the past 2 weeks.
Damage control 2 weeks...

As usual...

Nothing new...

So hard to please....will you at least admit that we did our damage control well then?

Why can't you just admit they did a good job last week. Synbad, why do you and others continue to persist with your pessimistic posts.

You all scream for something to be done, it get's done, and you're all still not satisified. A night with Jennifer Hawkins wouldn't satisfy you guys.

Could have ended a lot worse!

i.e - losing T-Bird to Hawks in exchange for a cream-pie, JR running back to PA *or taking him back with Pick 1 PSD*, signing Kermit the Frog as an assistant coach and Jennifer Hawkins as our midfield coach...

...then again, wouldn't mind Jennifer Hawkins looking after MY midfield?! :P

I think that line was/has been at at least outlined in the last 2 weeks. But 07 is the year of the line in the sand.

Hopefully by then Pagan will have proven himself or fallen on his sword. just so it shuts up all of the neagtive posters on all the CFC forums.

If there is a new ticket I hope the "ticket" is clean and not dragged through the media, strange isnt it that we are no longer having leaks to the media about things, now that the new board ticket fiasco has finished.

So they are either gathering int he wings waiting until ready (ie end of 07) or it was all hot air.

Picks GIBBS please.

What can the board actually be leaking on at this stage????

I reckon Denis has coached his last game.

thats my gut feel.
Nothing more......

Synbad, they are too gutless to get rid of Pagan until at least some time into next season.

I understand Smorgon is up for election anyway, so we can get rid of him right ????????? We can solve the presidency issue pretty much this year anyway.

I just hope we get decent people to challenge for these positions, and ones who's first agenda is to get rid of pagan and pay the AFL out so they can no longer have a say in how we run our club.

These are my wishes.....................

My gut feel is the board will give Pagan half a dozen games next year to either hang himself or get some breathing room.

How many wins would it take for Pagan to keep his job and increase supporter satisfaction next year?

I too feel that Denis may not coach another Carlton game.

For a long time I have felt that Brett Ratten is the next Carlton coach that wins a flag for us.

I cant be sure on this, but its the vibe I have.

One thing I dont know but I am very interested in, does Brett Ratten still wear glasses. I know he did wear them in the past.

I have a distinct feeling that the next Carlton Coach that wins a flag is a youngish man who wears glasses. He may not wear them all the time, but he does use them a fair bit.

I have always believed that Carlton emerges from this crisis in a totally outrageous way by winning a flag.

Not having a go but I'd forget about the flag talk and our next premiership coach. We need to get back on our feet and get our side competitive before we can even think about finals let alone who'll be holding the cup up.

The normal rules dont apply if you strongly feel that you have a psychic insight into these things.

I have been tracking this Carlton Crisis from 2001, on the basis of a nightmare I had back then.

The nightmare ended happily with a 17th flag, but only after bankruptcy scandal and wooden spoons.

In 2001, wooden spoons were the worst thing, I still hate them, but since that time Ive gotten used to them.

Carlton emerges from nowhere and takes everyone by surprise during a year in which there is a bad war going on.

And by the way the world is tracking right now, that bad war mightnt be very far away from us

The drought gripping Victoria will break when Carlton wins its next premiership
