She said nothing would bore her more.

You'll get to meet her one day, I promise.

I log on to TC every single day, it is my homepage at my laptop in my house. I read through every single new post each day, no matter how long it takes me.

My missus and i have even had arguments....
"You are on that bloody talking carlton website again aren't you......how about spending some quality time with me rather than talking about a F@%&#! football club on the internet"

I love Carlton Football Club, no matter what. But one thing is really giving me the shits...

Every single day when i log on here i am greeted with flood after flood of negative posts about how poorly the club is run, how bad the coach is, how poor our management of the playing list is, how poor our gameplan is, how poor our facilities are, how bad the seating is for social club members, how poor our finances are, how the AFL screwed us etc etc etc...

I understand people are angry, i understand people are entitled to an opinion, i understand that people want change, i understand that things could be much much better, but lets not forget that although we are at the bottom of the ladder, things could be much much worse....

I am so sick and tired of logging on here every day and reading everyone's posts bagging the club. This football club needs our support, as i said, i understand that people are entitled to an opinion, but for christs sake, there is opinions and then there is just plain sticking the knife in.

At a time in our clubs history where we are arguably at our lowest ebb, the club NEEDS our support, the players don't find it easy to run out there every week and get a beating, im sure denis doesnt go to bed at night thinking, ah my job is done, Carlton are languishing.

I'm sure Graham Smorgon isn't sitting down for a cuppa with his missus laughing about how bad Carlton's off field status is at the moment.
I'm sure Lance, Kouta, Fev and Murph arent sitting down for a beer on a sunday afternoon saying to eachother how they could have tried harder but they really just couldnt be stuffed.

Dont get me wrong, im not for one second suggesting that we all sit back and say, well as long as we are trying, thats good enough, because it isnt...our status at the moment, on field and off, is nowhere near a standard at which i say is good enough...and it wont be until we are holding the cup up at the end of september.

But for F@%&#! sake, instead of blasting the club at every opportunity, istead of looking at the bad things like Thornton leaving, Livo not performing, Lack of ruck options, Russell laguishing, losing draft picks, how about we read som friggin posts about the positive things happening at our beloved club.

Some of our kids development over the last two years has been amazing. Look at the year from Kade Simpson, look at the year from Brendan Fevola, Look at the year from Ryan Houlihan, Look at the development of Betts. Look at Setanta O' hAilpin, this kid had never picked up a footy a few years ago and in the last game of the season he had the wood over Barry Hall!!!

Look at our recovery from the draft penalties with the kids we picked up last year, already we have seen so much from Marc Murphy and Josh Kennedy and Paul Bower, and we are yet to see what Jake the snake has for us but looks like a real player in the twos.

We have made/are making changes to the coaching panel. A need has been recognised and has been acted on, while it wasnt the change that most people wanted, at least a need for change was recognised.

Look at our policy-Carlton have openly come out and said, no old retreads, we want youth and thats where the future lays.....this happened and people bagged the president for saying it? he is taking a proactive step in securing our future....good on him...

Look at the major redevelopments to optus/princess/mc labour.....at completion of that project we will have arguably one of the best training facilities in the AFL at our disposal.

Low membership numbers?? F@%&#! that, given our position on the ladder and our last 5 years, i think our numbers are respectable. Hawthorn are performing better.... their numbers aren't up to ours, neither are the roo's, neither are the tigers (i dont think)

We have the winner of the coleman medal-a wooden spoon team has the coleman medal winner, we have goal of the year winner, we have a kid who played 13 games and if he played all season would have won the rising star by the length of the princes highway.

We see threads on these things, up to 5 or 6 pages.....we see a sack pagan thread go for 80 pages.

Like i said Carlton football club is at our lowest point ever, we need the support of the fans, we need to unite and show the AFL we cant be beaten, we cant be walked all over and we arent a rabble.

People are saying our board, our club is a rabble, but i personally think it starts and ends with the fans....we need to get behind our club.

While i might not be happy with everything that is happening with my beloved Blues at the moment, while i may not agree with all decisions being made by the club, F@%&#!, i love the Blues, i love everything about the club, and no matter what happens i will always support and love the Blues.

So instead of sinking the knife, lets get behind our club and if the fans themselves have to push these bastards up the ladder ourselves then lets bloody do it.

POW!!!

give it to him now.

Im sure about all of those things...

So should i not say so??

and the main offender is.........

are you even a carlton supporter mate.....???

so sick of the negativity......you come on here day after day sprouting crap like things will change watch this space, things are happening...agreed SOMETIMES you have some interesting points but if all you want to do is bag the club and the way it is run why dont you F@%&#! off over to big footy with the other armchair experts???

either that or run your own ticket and run for board. im sure we all know you could do a much better job.

If this gets me a warning so be it, im willing to cop one because basically im just sick of all your negative bullshit.

We finished bottom with now back to back spoons, our coach is useless and we kept him after flip-flopping a thousand times gauranteeing more time at the bottom, our Board is an embarrasment, players are leaving, membership is down 5000, we have no money...........and you wonder why we're negative. It's actually called bloody realism, not burying your head in the sand and saying "gee everything's great, let's be positive". As much as you mightn't like it, it's where we're at and you have to accept that. The best way to fix a problem is to first recognise you have one.

No.

Those who you say "want to do something about it" If that means posting negative posts on this forum I'd like to see them tie their shoelaces.

People have different brains and think differently, Some people cannot face the fact that we are shit and so they act all negative to avoid embarrasment maybe? Cos they have a chip on their shoulder maybe? some honestly think they have more clue than the board....which they might have..... I don't @#$%&! know.

Though some are just fans, that's right "fans" plain and simple..which means "fanatic" so inturn they bloody support their club whenever, wherever...maybe they couldn't give two @#$%&! hoots what's going on in the middle of it all because they aren't qualified to know whether the club is doing the right thing or not. They are their to barrack, and to love thier club unconditionally.

You can't change people and nor should you want to.....just learn to live with it.

This is where some people lose me. Since when has it been a fans job to think objectively? If we were true to that we wouldn't just accept any player who puts on a guensey, we wouldn't accept a win which was clearly an umpiring fuckup which gave it to us. We wouldn't get on here and bag the shit out of a bloke who 90% of us had never met. We'd accept the fact that we should never have made it into the prelim to play Essendon* in 99 when we finished 6th and were beaten in the first round...we'd hand back out premierships accumulated from years of cheating.

Fans have a @#$%&! role to play in football. Without the diehards we'd have no @#$%&! members anymore and no club.

Jim I agree with you but membership being down has nothing to do with the coach. Sure if if was 1000 but the level it is it a promotion thing. Eddie MCchins  can sell ice to the eskimo's and sand to the Arab's (but hey no success - wont last they have really [REDACTED] up - I hope). We need a competent team driving our marketing and future. The coach is but a tool they use. Alot here hoped we could trade  Pagan to St Blunda - ie good coach with good cattle. Well hey dudes if he is a good coach a good PR person would be able to sell that to - especially with all the positives we have at present - What without TBird we now have at least 5 top 20(SUPERDRAFT) picks :P :-D 8) .

The fact you posted here DOA made me read carefully.

Yep at the end of the day I also agree. We are here to support - unconditinally and its great to see someone really in the know reinforce it. Hope he tears all and sundry a new arsehole next year.

 Even though I've never met her, and will never meet her, TBM has always struck me as the kind of girl who would be great fun to hang out with, have a beer, a laugh and talk footy with.

And further to her retort, anyone who thinks logging on to the internet and "venting", whinging, constantly posting negative drivel is actually "doing something about it" are kidding themselves. It's funny how the "realists" and those not in "lala land" get all up in arms when somone posts a thread like this, when in fact they are doing just as little (other than posting whingy crap rubbish day after day that no-one who loves Carlton wants to read) as anyone else anyway.

And if "having your head in the sand" means wanting to enjoy your hobby then I (like bnz) am guilty as charged. And if pulling my head out of the sand means I'm not going to enjoy my hobby any more (like so many here who just aren't having fun) then I'll follow another sport, cause head in or out aint gonna change a thing, even if people think posting on the internet is somehow magically going to change things.

"Verbinator"....that's cool. 8)

If some people are the same supporters in real life they are on here I'd be staying right away from them at the footy. Conversely, there's a bunch of people on here (danny, Deano, KK, Jarusa, some prick et al) who I've had a heap of fights with who I imagine I would really like to have at my side during a game to cheer on the Blues.

Then there are others who give every indication they would love to see Carlton dead and burried just so they can say "I told you so". Losers.

I appreciate that, Verbs. I know we haven't seen eye-to-eye on everything (hell, let's be honest...most things), but I know it's (mostly) not personal, it's about the club.

is there any way you can block users so that when they post (if u have them blocked) you cant see their post? its on a few forums around the place...id just like it so i could block synbad.

bnz posts a fantastic and passionate speech and, like usual, synbad comes along and has to piss on the birthday cake. go away you sour old woman. leave people in this forum alone, people who love the carlton football club and arnt so negetive.
