scuttlebutt is suggesting Port have met with JR and have offered him a chance to go home, would like to know if kennyhunter, Josh Kaplan or anyone else with media contacts can verify this before I start believing it??

KEEP JR IN NAVY BLUE! TEAL WOULD LOOK HORRIBLE ON HIM.

Who delivers the teams early and posted in this thread?

SAS? he suggested JR was unhappy and wanted out, but I want to know if Port are making a play for him.

Nah, Melvey likes coming here with "facts", very few of which bear any fruit.

Large pinch of salt is required with anything he says, I'm afraid.

Yeah I agree KK. My original post was said tongue in cheek.

Can't you see....

Melvey is building us up for if Pagan decides to override Hughes and say that we won't draft Gibbs because of the 'go home' factor. He'll cite the almost inevitable trade of Russell, combined with the 'efforts' we are 'apparently' about to have to make to keep Bower.

Therefore, Pagan won't want Gibbs... too much of a risk.

I'm with you Molly. Pago is a Hansen fan apparently. He's probably pushed Thorny out the door so he will also have the arguement that we have no key backman now....

Yeah you are probably right Mikkey but I have been watching Bower very closely at the Bullants and I have had several chats to the young man. This kid is a gem, he will not be a monster CHB but a fantastic running HBF or even on the wing. Bower has a lot of flair and provides heaps of run. Can't wait to watch him next year in a CARLTON jumper.

I am fairly sure that any draftees cannot be traded or delisted after 1 year but I am sure that there was a special rule made for those having to travel interstate to prevent any of this talk happening after 1 year on an AFL list. I am sure PB will be in the navy blue next year.

They're given 2 year contracts. But all that means is they have to be paid.

I think if all parties agree they can be traded and there has been such a case but the name of the player escapes me.

I'm not sure if this is true about Bowyer,i guess he could have asked if he could be traded if it's possible,he could really hate being in Victoria and wants to be back in WA,who knows, not everyone that plays football or not likes staying away from where they were born. It could be true or could be just nonesense, will see in the future.I could understand if it's true,i dont think i would like staying years away from my state or Country for Work.

morning,

I can honestly say thats what i been told. I never said he going to leave but the situation has definitely been discussed and the option put forward to him.

I can tell you also that the club has tried every approach to get t-bird to change his mind and he will not budge.

Grant and Sticks meet with him on sunday, several calls from Kouta, players and including a ledgend of the club who mentored Bret have all failed to get through to him.

So if the option has been put forward to him, does that mean we are trying to get him to head back to Perth?
