I know why you spat the dummy. I just found it funny that you were questioning someone else's post, yet got so angry when someone did the same to you. And why would you say that Ryan's post is fantasy while yours wasn't?

I am glad you do understand why i spat it. :-D

It is only my own opinion with the post. It is just to hard to believe that denis cannot make public his statements re future of CFC let alone ring a stranger and spill his guts. Please think about it.

Let's not go over old ground please boys.

While I'd love to know what Denis said to Ryan, I'm more interested to hear that he took the time to contact one person who took the time to put pen to paper.

He was under no obligation to do that.

Thanks Ryan2000 for letting people in on the fact that DP took the time to call you personally

Fair enough, Mrs Caz.

Sorry for the side-track.

I still think it's to Denis' credit if he took the time to speak to Ryan personally.

For me it shows that we need to always remember, like Pagan / Smorgon or not, we need to show them respect for putting their balls on the line for the club. As stated earlier, Pagan comes in every day to the hardest job in football and gives his all.

If people want them gone, then that is fine, but do it through the proper channels and show all Carlton people respect.

As far as people saying they shouldn't have time to do this doing trade week, Get a Life. A call to one supporter is a great thing.

Fantastic. It's a start. Now, next time someone is lucky enough to talk to Denis, can they ask him to try to CONNECT, CONVERSE, STRIKE UP A RELATIONSHIP with his players. That might help a little!

Oh and one more thing. Could they ask Denis when was the last time he spoke to his players? Was it the Sunday night after we played the Swans in round 22, before he left to come back to Melbourne, whilst all the boys stayed up in Sydney? Except of course for Thornton whom he tried to communicate with this week, but well and truly after the horse had bolted.

I posted this elsewhere in another thread but i though i might make it a new Thread on it's own, incase it got lost in the other one.

I recently posted a letter to Denis outlining a few concerns i had.

I was shocked to all hell last night when i recieved a phone call from Mr. Denis Pagan himself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now.........................................................

What was said is between him and me and i gave him my word that it will stay that way, Denis was very nice and did go into quite a bit of detail that he really didn't need to (quite a bit actually!), but did so because he admired how passionate my letter was.

Regardless of my thoughts or feelings towards Denis, i would like to PUBLICLY say that the phone call was very much appreciated and i thank him for that.

I think i owe him the honour of at least coming on here and thanking him publicly for that. A Two-Time premiership coach doesn't really need to be phoning supporters explaining themselves.................but he did, and i thank him for that!

Anyway. Just thought i would state that publicly on here!

I got a phone call from Tara Reid and Pamela Anderson,it was a steamy hot conversation,i was promised to not say anything about the video were did,it should be online anyday.

I agree Rhys but this will be our last chance to really top up the list, remembering that there are no guarantee's that this years and last years crop have solved our problems.

If we can show improvement and secure the PP we will be laughing all the way to the bank...

Ps I thought we pretty much did that this year to be honest...One last year (all hell will break loose, but when the dust settles the sun will shine).

SA Blue, that's exactly what a high level approach should be by the supporters; through thick or thin. I love it!

The people on these forums take a serious interest and involvement of this mighty club. They are far from taking a high level views of the club. They are intimate, passionate and tragic supporters, but of benefit to the club (well some are just aggressive). They are members, and committed to the cause; to win more flags.

They make suggestions; in the main.

Some make constructive criticism; and apply it as an artform. Have a look at the next quote for example:

.

Great example of constructive criticism preacher.

Praise and criticism, but some good advice, using DP's ability to communicate (by calling Ryan) and eluding to effort as the catalyst for building stronger relationships (which it appears is not strong). Being able to communicate and doing it is not the same as not enabling the possibility; it's the gap with DP.

There's room for improvement. Making the effort to Ryan, heartens most of us to believe that there is an element of change for the positive with the top end of management; if only they can keep it up at a high and consistent level with the players and the media.

The masses who just follow Carlton have to know something that's going on their club, to feel connection, inclusiveness, and with that the memberships will slowly rise, and they only get that from the media. The board and DP have not done enough of it. And when they have, they have been rather cliche, and we are none the wiser. Spruiking is what most call it.

Thanks again Ryan

Ryan, do you think that Gibbs would be better selection than Leuenberger or Hansen, and do you think that we might go for Gibbs to keep the supporters happy when we really desperately need firstly ruckmen and next a CHB before picking Gibbs?

Hi Ryan,

I hope you gave him a few pointers.

Like how to coach a football team or
How to be nice to players so they like him more or
How to teach players to kick the ball properly or
How to always keep a spare card up your sleeve during trade period or
How to play nice with Mitch or
How he could have beaten the blues by more back in 99.

Excellent work Ryan, well done. We should be more than a force next year with your proactive support and outstanding knowledge of the game and especially in coaching. Sheedy will be calling you tomorrow if he knows what is good for him.

Cheers,

Ronnie

We'd all love to know. The fact is (and I have no reason to doubt it) Denis did and we should respect Ryan's respect for what was said and his honour not to repeat it.

To me its a great thing to have happenned. The fact that Denis took the time out to speak with an ordinary supporter saws volumes for the man and they way he must be feeling at present.

I for one didnt want the bloke as coach because I just didnt like him from what I had seen and I think Wayne was hard done by(fair comment as far as im concerned) given we all aknowlege our list was shit.

At the same time I can see the light at the end of a very dark tunnel and cannot understand the logic of getting rid of him when there is light. For some it cannot come soon enough and for others it needs to be darker still.

We should take solace in the fact that he cares enough to swallow some pride and explain himself to a mere mortal even if it is in confidence.

If it's true that Denis went into 'quite' alot of detail, moreso than he needed to to a total stranger I have strong reservations....either it's a lie Or Denis is a tool.

My better judgement tells me not to believe it...Unless it was all just gibberish that meant nothing if it were to be spread then it's ok.....Anyhoo Ryan you know the truth and I could be plain wrong.....

I'm a born skeptic....

Wow, the guys in charge of our football club have the time and energy to talk to total strangers and yet wont utter two words to other AFL clubs about maximising a return via trade for 2 players who have walked out on the club!!!

The fact that they called unknown supporters at all is bizarre enough, but when coupled with the their ostrich in the sand approach to T-bird and Russell, then it is almost curtains for this club i'm afraid!

Sorry to ryan, i dont wish to make this an attack or criticism on you, just how it reflects on this two-bit club of ours

marciblue - have more faith in your club rather than faith in the media and it's reports
