Kenny Hunter was a spectacular mark and played great in the back line. Can be done. But I would love to see Walks in the midfield, pushing forward. He poses a tough match up because of his arial ability. Like Kouta of 1999-2000, where he was a midfielder pushing forward on his shorter opponents and kicking goals.

I'm not suggesting that it can't be done, just that AW hasn't got the judgement of Hunter or SOS yet.

As you say though, better to use his althleticism to cause headaches for opponents in the midfield. 8)

I think the sweeper role will depend upon match ups and one thing you can say about our list is that it has some versatility.

Most midfielders are now asked to take their opponents down back and up forward to exploit any weakness. During the last couple of seasons Walker, Houlihan, Scotland, Stevens, Lappin etc have all shown that they can all play that role. Even Raso Russell and Jackson could play a sweeping role down back.

With Bower Saddington Thornton Ohailpin and one of these players most of our backline positions appear to be covered. I think the big weakness is the back pocket where a small defender with pace to cover the small clever forwards is not so obvious.
