If that was the case Collingwood wouldnt be in the compettion at season end

The only team who are not even hiding the fact that they are tanking is COllingwood...

Hawks are semi doing it and the Blues at moment are looking like doin anything but loose

So if that happend Collingwood would be the first team penalised for obvious tanking

Don't fool yourselves, that one pick does make a difference, it makes a Brock McLean of a difference.

Brock McLean, he's a good player. Hard as nails, a 10 year midfielder. Still, you'd rather have won an extra home and away game in 2003 instead, wouldn't you?

Just like I wish we won a couple of extra games in 2003 and missed out on Andrew Walker.

Just like I hope we beat Essendon* on the weekend :-D :) :( :o  :? 8) :x :P       :?:

**THIS SEASON HAS SO COMPLETELY SCREWED WITH MY HEAD THAT MY THOUGHT PATTERNS CLOSELY RESEMBLE ALL THE EMOTICONS ABOVE, ALL AT ONCE. LET IT END!! (WITH A PP)**

I sympathise with you John,

I felt ill eating my tea tonight even though it's only Friday evening. Don't think I'll be eating for the rest of the weekend, sipping flat lemonade through a straw will be my diet until Sunday evening.

Everybody, look at it this way - if there was some cosmic event tomorrow that affected the whole plant, then the game on Sunday wouldn't matter at all.

Say, thousands of giant cream and purple beach balls, each a kilometre in diameter, hit the oceans of the earth at impressive yet not-too-catastrophic speeds... and everybody and everything got wet. Really wet, but no one died. That'd distract us...

They'd distract us for an hour of so. Until we realised that if those beachballs hit, we'd be playing in the wet, which would probably improve our chances of winning.

How about a nice kilometre-wide asteroid? Yeah, that'd do.

No go. While we all know what's going on, they've been smart. They can claim that they had a duty of care not to play injured players. No way the AFL can do anything...

which answers the other question the AFL cannot proove that teams will throw or drop games ...They can stop teams if players are changed in position .. rested and not risked on non matches or put into a flood mode

So if the BLues / Pies / Hawks loose over the next 2 weeks it happens if they dont then so be it.

If they suspect then they just have to make sure the stupid PP draft rules dont exist in there current form

2 more wins that year John and we would have missed out on not only Walker but also stevens.

Look its easy to lose... Lance on Lucas.. Teague on Lloyd.. and Wiggo on Hird.
Throw in Kouta on Johnston and Bentick on Lovell...and we will get blown away.....

Plus noones cheating... were just checking out what our players can do ..

I'm with GWS. Let's go for the draw. That way we don't lose, but we are still on the bottom with only 20 points. Come PP, come to me.

Well if it looks like we are going to beat the Dons lets hope the Dawks beat the Tigers. If so we will get pick 3 in the draft and 2 in the PSD. If we do win the only thing that will help slightly is if the Dawks win.

What if we play our arses off, kick the shit out of the bummers, then in the final minutes of the game we'd "accidentally" leave an extra man on the field. We'd have our 4 points stripped off us, beat the bombers and everone would be happy!!

Ohhh...and then there's Demetriou

For F^&*& sake.

As much as I don't want to lose what is one game going too make.

This game will never be forgotten.

If we win it costs us, if we lose there is compensation.

If we win one more and Collingwood and Hawthorn don't we end up with pick 5, and 3rd pick in the PSD. If we stay where we are we get Pick 1 & 3, 4 or 5, and first pick in the PSD.

SO we get two potentially high calibre young players, a free crack at an uncontracted player, which allows us too focus on trading for another current AFL player who wants more money.

This positioning on the ladder is not just about a lazy pick in the draft, it is about our total postioning come trade week.

Dont' cry about severe draft penalties and then shoot ourselves in the foot. I will take the loss and move on.

If we win tomorrow the thing that will dumbfound me is that Pagan has repeatedly commented on how much the draft sanctions have hurt the club and how badly we need more talent etc.

Along with Collingwood, we need these picks more than any other club in the competition.
