I truly believe that Carlton is at a very important juncture of its existence at the moment and can shape were the club goes for the next 10 years. I am a HUGE Fev fan. Love watching him at his best and always prepared to talk him up. Let's not look at the B+F in isolation but make a list of all the times he has failed our club. There was last week, the bummer game, the aints game and regular displays of disinterest and bad body language.
Whits as well has been essentially ineffective since 2001. He did not stand up when we needed him since then and is obviously unable to be a strong, consistent contributor in a Pagan team.
If Carlton is really going to turn a new leaf and make some progress in the future then perhaps both of these players need to depart. Fev's petulance and immaturity are having a real bad impact at the club. He has always gotten away with his regular misdemeanours so he simply can't change because he has been spoilt by the club. Whitts as well fails to prepare to a standard that is required and has no true role on field and only puts in when the pressure is on. These characteristics are unwelcome at Carlton. And I believe that expecting these two to change is unrealistic.
I would love for any trades for these 2 to perhaps be conducted in the lead up to a super draft as touted for next year and perhaps acquiring additional 1st round picks. But for the good of Carlton we might be unable to wait.
I have been a supporter of the trade Whits push but if Fev's comments are for real then they really are the straw that broke Camel's back!!!
So perhaps both can go
Yeah, we might not have these key forwards and be a little short up forward but we'll have a clean slate and can build the team up again without any petulance
