Out Davies,Prendergast,Sporn and Wiggins
In A ,OHalipin,Bower,Russell and Livo

Pagan thinks that Deluca has more potential than Bryan but Bryan can be entitled to be pissed off given the form of both players at training. The club should look to the future rather than trying to win another pre season cup.The changes above should of been made. There is a spot for JR .We lack run out of defence.

I suppose alot of us are hanging to see some new blood, but that's not the Pagan way.

Go Blues.....

Three players yet to play an AFL game and another who's only played once not enough new blood for you? Even in the Wizard Cup with an expanded bench you can only play so many newbies and still expect to be competitive... especially if your the worst side in the league. Sure it would've been nice to see Russell in the squad but not if it meant Blackwell not getting his chance.

I didn't mention Russell.... I don't really care when the young players get a go. My comment was a generalisation about how supporters are feeling. Anxious to see some of the new guys.... we want to see some new talent not the same old hacks - read Wiggins.

Apart from Deluca, I'm amazed that Sporn and Prenda get the nod over JR.

I expect Fev to be coming out of the squad. He is named purely to get more along to the game.

Has anyone considered the possibilty that Bryan and Russel arnt in the side because Denis already has them penciled in and blokes like Deluca, Wiggo and Davies have been told they really need to show something or else enjoy the Bullants this year?

No its not if Dennis was thinking along these lines - Kouta and Co wouldn't be playing

He is trying to win it - He claims they have embarked on a rebuilding process but wont play the young guys in a practice match. Kouta - Whitnal - lappin - Stevens - French should be wrapped in cotton wool ready for the season ahead

The guy is an idiot - I keep saying it but people keep defending him

I hope we lose this week then he have no reason to play our top players in the regional challenge and the young guys will get a go

Yep, worst list in the AFL so we need to wrap some in cotton wool and what we need is to lose some more games to get morale up and memberships pouring in.

That's a plan.

Those guys you have mentioned are a marque players, none have any real injury concerns and we need to put on a competetive showing. Without these blokes kids like (French in particular) kids like Blackwell would be like lambs led to the slaughter.

The clubs needs a decent showing to put a postive spin on things in the media and for sponsorship. These games are about the kids being able to show their wares, something they wouldnt do if we send out a second rate side.

People on this site bag Kouta and Co for not doing enough and now some thinks its also ok to bag them for doing too much :?

Kouta could be driving to traning today and have a semi change lanes and drive over the top of him and be gone (god forbid). It happend to a girl 500 meters from where I work yesterday so yes shit does happen.

You cannot live for tommorow becuase it may never come. If someone gets injured and we cant replace them, then we need to look at out depth and do something about it (pretty sure thats what we have been doing but it takes time). Powerfull sides cover their injuries, side like Collingwood who are very competitive bur lack depth cant and thats why they fall from grace so quickly.

I dont care if we win or lose on Sat (I do really) what I want to see is a cohesive unit with the leaders leading and the you talent people keep raving about showing us a glimpse of the future.

$1,000,000 from the AFL and $250,000 from NAB would be a nice cash inflow to start the season.

Some players are able to regain match fitness pretty easily. Jonathan Brown served his suspension at the start of last year and then played a blinder in his return game.

Kouta isn't one of those players. He needs to have match practice. If he is to be sharp for Rd 1, he should play all of the preseason games. This doesn't mean he has to play every minute of every game. He will obviously play much less in the first game than he will in the last of the NAB Cup/Regional Challenge games.

French also seems to benefit from playing preseason games. He is still learning more about the caper, even at his age. Giving him the ability to hone skills in a semi-competitive environment is a good thing. Again, he needn't play 100% of the time, but I suspect he will be disappointed if he is asked to go to the bench at any stage.

Stevens had an enforced layoff at the end of last season because of his groin. He also missed the intraclub and some training in an attempt to ensure that his calf is OK He seems to have caught up pretty well, but I would think he needs some extra work. Sure, if the medicos think he is risky, he shouldn't be played.

Skinny and Lance both need to maintain good preseasons. Skinny had a relatively poor year last year and will benefit from good form leading into Round 1. He may also be asked to take on a somewhat different role this year. If so, he will need some time to acclimatise. If he is to play in defence, IMO as many of the first-choice defenders should be played as possible to allow them to build cohesion. This is especially so if the idea is for Lance to play most of his time at CHB.

Its a stinking practice match we should be using it to show case our new young recruits .

Whats the objective for this year to win another preseason cup or develop our list for years to come. The only way these guys will develop is to give them game time and what better game time than a practice match where no one is that serious.

More fans would jump on board if they could see we were trying to develop and showcase off our future not showing off wiggins and prendagast . And when you have players like kouta and stevens and whitnal and lappin who are the only real proven talent you have on your list why play them -

look what all the other sides are doing and their players that wont be playing this weekend

The guy is an idiot

Denis is playing the best side possible. If they were already penciled in they'd be playing tomorrow. But I'd agree that guys like Wiggo, Sporn, Davies are on their last chance while Russell still has time.
